I am genuinely stunned, on multiple levels.

He's going to have to get off to a flying start or there will be a lot of anger on the terraces.

Mr Moyes, please take your incompetence elsewhere, you are not wanted here

Couldn't care less. **** him and **** them!

What a ****ing worm to jump straight into the job barely hours before Bilic was told to leave after weaseling his way in gobbing off on telly telling us all he's interested etc. He shouldn't have said a ****ing thing.

He might do alright. And I sincerely hope he does, as I don't want anyone to fail.

But at a moment when the club needs galvanising and supporters in particular needing to feel re-invigorated, this is what they went for?

If this doesn't work out then Moyes' reputation will be done. The board's reputation will be in the gutter. And fans will walk away. This is an astonishing gamble.

Prove us wrong David and get us to 17th place. Good luck - you’ll need it.

Said that Sunderland were in a relegation battle before a ball was kicked - turned out to be spot on.

Said that anyone he could bring in in January would not be the sort of players to get Sunderland out of the bottom three - again, spot on.

Said that Sunderland couldn't attract any decent players, essentially because they are Sunderland - three out of three there Dave.

God only knows what he's going to say about us.

OK, a decision has been made and now it's time to get behind the new boss. Nothing will be gained by continually whinging.

Yesterday’s man joining a club moving backwards. Kind of makes sense.

Just looked at the story on the official site, his picture on the main page, just doesn't look right! Another chapter that feels like it's doomed to failure.
