The game and the fitness level has changed considerably now, and the offside decisions can go either way, sometimes goals are disallowed that are legit and vice versa.

I wasn’t trying to Americanize the game, just provide more space for creative players to do their stuff, show their skill, and stop wrong decisions from the officials. Maybe it would change the game to be better, maybe it wouldn’t. Just wanted to voice an opinion and wanted you to know that I’m English.

Well thats good to know, especially the later comment on Donald.....

but i think that the modern offside rule was introduced in 1925 and the original one in the 1800's, mate no offence intended i just hate that sport (any sport) is now governed by the TV and that model comes from the State. Others that spring to mind are 20 20 cricket and F1 with that stupid overtake contraption! why can't they just play cricket and race cars?

I can't bear the fact that its all so ****ing money orientated. Why can't they just leave things alone and play the "game" as it should be played, i blame Trump for most things, lol. but this one is definitely down to Murdoch, what a cuntof a man he is.

Lots of good suggestions in here, among the you can’t be serious ones.

I would add a rule that any club which thinks it should have a bigger slice of the Sky/BT Sport/whoever billions just to maintain their position as a big spender in the top six should be told to **** off and join a European super league and then forbidden to play any other English club, even friendlies, except the ones which have ****ed off with them. Let’s see how many seats they sell for that bore fest and, more importantly, how many Sky Sports subscriptions get cancelled.

So you want to greatly lessen the reward for winning a game?

That'll make things more exciting for sure.

Simplistic yet unrealistic idea, I'd set a deadline for say, (Start of the 2025 season) - whereby after this date, transfers of players over the age of 16 will be abolished.

The sole focus will be on youth academies, scouting ,coaching, and player development.

With no transfers, clubs will eventually only be able to field players developed in their academies.

All cup competitions to be knock out, no leagues and no dropping in to another competition once your knocked out that’s it. Bring back the old Uefa format. Only entered if you’re a true champion or cup winner.

Sack anyone over 50 in Fifa or Uefa and if over 50 they must put a penalty past Buffon to remain in the job every year.

Get rid of Scottish football it’s become a sad and tired.

Bring Martin Keown in at the club so we can chant he has a monkey head to have some enjoyment every week. :scarfer:

The players must play with a ball supplied by the supporters every week, could be a professional or one of them lightweight plastic ones you used to get from the garage will be different every week.

If red carded they must put a week’s wages in to charity who then choose an outfit for them to wear for their next game.

Let animals be entered on the pitch every 15 mins starting with small ones to larger ones.

........I like that a lot, perhaps not so rigid, but certainly some mileage there to bring a bit of pride back to the game. Or will we just see 6 year olds being transferred between academies for £10 million quid

Goalkeepers can handle the ball in both areas.

If you fake an injury you get that injury surgically inflicted on you after the game.

All ponytails, man buns, etc to be chopped off.

Immediate red card for any dance, handshake, thumb sucking, signature celebration including that silly thing Yakubu and Drogba used to do and Bale’s heart.

If any club refers to themselves by only ‘United’ or ‘City’ etc they forfeit 5 points.

Wayne Rooney has to be painted green before every game.

At least two teenagers must start every game to stop supporters moaning.

A 5th official to be hanggliding over the pitch for a birds eye view.

Just some ideas to improve the sport for all involved.

How about an automatic 3 points per game for a pig food based team name per game, in 2 years it will be West ham v Hamberg in the champions league final
-2 points per game for any russian owned clubs
1 point for no cards during a match

If the attacking team hits the post or bar and the ball goes behind they should get a corner likewise if it goes out for a throw.

Safe standing.
Entry prices reduced for the prem(they get all they need from the TV)
At least 1 pre season friendly to be played against their nearest club that plays below league 2
Reintroduce the home internationals.
Have the league cup as a British cup with Scottish ,Welsh and Northern Irish teams entered as well.
The FA cup to be sponsor free and the final to be the only game played at Wembley and guaranteed to be a Saturday and 3pm KO.

Whoever is failed in the box takes the Penalty. (or shot/ cross blocked for handball)

Nearest player to the ball when it goes out takes the throw in. Any dispute or attempt to hand the ball over to a team mate ... throw goes the other way.
