No point signing him now then as that is the one for the year!Johnny Byrne's Boots wrote:I see Adama Traore scored today

Re: January transfer window
Traore was apparently fantastic today. There is something to work with there. He certainly has the talent.
Injuries and matches mounting up, we need to improve the squad.

Ironmike mentioned Nasri, a quick search of Nasri’s name in twitter brings up a few reports from Turkish and italian outlets mentioning West Ham making an offer to him

Moyes’ don’t run, don’t play mantra would be seriously tested by that one. Quality player, but a lazy fecker.screech wrote:Ironmike mentioned Nasri, a quick search of Nasri’s name in twitter brings up a few reports from Turkish and italian outlets mentioning West Ham making an offer to him

Re: January transfer window
Our board don't seem able to do business quietly so it appears that we aren't too close to bringing anyone in, plenty of rumours of players leaving though.
Are we going to have any players left for the next game?
Only three attacking players available today, one going off injured. We have some important games in the next few weeks against the teams around us and we are really short of players, let alone options to mix things up.

Re: January transfer window
Nasri would actually be a good signing, if it's a short term deal.
We aren't blessed with creative players.
Despite being a bit of a wally, he's a tidy footballer.

We're threadbare at the moment and it shows. Lanzini went off and you could see the energy dip amongst the players. Hopefully it's not a long term problem.
Absolutely need to get midfielders in now but I think we all have to be cautious. January transfer window is littered with players suddenly being shopped by agents etc. Most are either a mix of poor egos, unfit, greedy or rejected because they can't adapt to changing strategies. Don't mind the club being cautious but they have to act or the good work that's been done so far won't last.

Re: January transfer window
I'm starting to believe the "they have no money" line. I understand caution, but Dendoncker is the one that baffles me. He's young, he's good, he plays the position we need most AND is flexible enough to cover another, he desperately wants a move to England, his club have allegedly dropped his price to a very reasonable one, our manager rates him, Henry rates him.... so..... why is he not here?

Seeing as this is the transfer thread I presume this is here because we've taken this bloke on loan from Arsenal?Major wrote:Go on which one of you lot is this?

Re: January transfer window
I think in the summer the manager will have a potential large budget, 30-40 is our ‘usual’ spend and on any incoming cash from players sold.
Looking likely to be gone before next season:
Antonio - £20m
Ayew - £15m
Hernandez - £10m
Manager COULD have £80+ Millionto spend.

Re: January transfer window
Sullivan is a billionaire, Gold is a multi millionaire. Of course they have money, they just refuse to spend any of it on West Ham. The accounts will show how much those asset strippers have taken out of the club at a time when investment out on the pitch is critical. Bournemouth went through our midfield like a hot knife through butter second hand. So many of our players simply can't tackle to save their life. We desperately need a quality defensive midfielder yet Sullivan will instead sign some fekwit from Newcastle who gets bombed out of clubs at a regular rate because of his stinking attitude and ill discipline.

Re: January transfer window
Bloody hell Dixie, I know it’s Saturday night but it’s only early, what have you been drinking! £80m!? We’ll spend about that in the next 3 summer windows More likely is one sold this window and one in, probably on loan, £0 spent. In the summer, usual £10m - £15m net spend, few out few in, couple of loans. Anywhere between 11th and 17th and the owners are happy, repeat until they sell up. Some supporters still need to make their peace with this.

Re: January transfer window
The Inter v Roma game that the Mirror is saying Moyes is flying out to is on BT Sport tomorrow night. If selected a chance to watch Mario play.

Re: January transfer window
I think you’re right on Moyes, he seems to be perfect for us, I think he is his own man but I don’t think he’s too bothered about spending. If he is here past the summer I think he will go back to his Everton transfer strategy in picking up talent from the Championship, possibly even League One and top six cast off youngsters, the owners of course will be all for this.dixie1978 wrote:Macca i am trying to be optimistic about the board.
I think that maybe Sullivan has found a manager in Moyes that will not be walked over.
