If we are unlucky with injuries - 17th

If we aren't hit by major injuries to the vital few - 14th

If we have luck on our side during our vital games against our relegation rivals - 10th

Probably not far from where we are now, somewhere 12th to 16th...

We won eight of the last fourteen in 2001/02 to clinch seventh place, we can do it again, we'll do it again!

We’ve gone W3 D3 L1 in the last 7 games, I see no reason with the next set of 5 games we can’t go W3 D1 L1, 10 points takes us to 32 and relative safety. Can see us finishing 14th - 16th, no real scares, we’re not very good but there’s worse.

If we added to our first team, with a single good acquisition: 10-12th

If we added to the squad and made a decent fist of assimilating one of the returning loanees, kind of like a sub-Rice, fresh pair of legs, for better defensive solidity towards the end of matches: 11-15th

If we add nobody of any real quality: 15-18th.

[I think, personally, that there's only one real place to still be squabbling over, because Swansea and WBA are goners].

FAC6, too.

Romantic notion, the top 6 have now broken away and are in a league of their own. To be 7th, we would be the best of the rest and we are not. You only have to take one look at our form and results from the league this season, 5 wins from 22 league matches and a minus goals difference and just one away win so far. It is all down to consistency and since when have we ever been consistent, other than consistently bad?

I reckon 5 wins and a couple of draws in there. About 40 points and safe be about 5 or 6 points.

I said at the start of the season that the squad is good enough to finish 15th - 17th and I reckon that's about right still.
Sullivan will be overjoyed but will sack Moyes anyway. He'll employ a new manager under the pretext of ambition. Season tickets will be renewed on a wave of misplaced optimism. Said manager will be cheaper than the players he won't get and results will be much the same as this year. 15 games into the new season the manager will be blamed for everything and Tony Pulis will take over.

We certainly need to be a few points out of relegation range by end of March because April and May don't look kind.

nail biting all the way. final game of the season we need to win to stay up. We win. We stay up. Hart and The Pea leave. Manu says he'll stay, but he leaves, Arnie leaves because the others have left and questions the board's ambition as Snodgrass is returned and made club captain.

We re-sign Zaza even though he hasn't scored since January.

44 points and 11th.

Early Cup exit.

Deemed good enough and Moyes given a 2 year contract.

Personally, I'd prefer it if it went right to the wire. Nothing better than a relegation scrap if you can't win anything and choose to not compete in the Cups.
