Expected from the thread title that we’d taken to trying to recruit a central midfielder in a different way - by advertising on KUMB...well, we’ve asked for pretty much every PL teams out of favour player on loan so maybe we need a new angle...

But can see this is for a different role.

However, does the vacancy ad state that midfield experience would be an advantage.....given our penchant for round pegs in square holes?

I wonder if the handling criticism but is more due to the abuse and mudslinging that’s in pretty much every reply to everything the club posts. I’d imagine it can get disheartening after a while.

It speaks volumes about people’s perceptions of the club and those running it that the first thought about that bit is the behaviour of the board

'The average salary for a Social Media Manager is £30,450 in London, UK. Salaries estimates based on 13 salaries submitted anonymously to Glassdoor by Social Media Manager employees in London, UK.'

Well, you only have to work 384 full working days a year to get to 30k!

Ducking disgrace.

How many of you have actually read the JD? This is no managerial position or the most important PR position in the club. It basically says assisting this, helping that, gathering the other. The only hint of responsibility is “Significant role when it comes to all media matters relating to West Ham United Ladies and the club’s Academy.” I’d imagine there won’t be a huge amount of first team responsibility for a little while.

To me it reads like a Jnr position that someone straight from their A levels would do. No £9.75 isn’t a huge amount but for what reads like a trainee position it isn’t bad. After a year or two experience of doing this they’d be able to command a fair amount more.

Imagine they called it an apprenticeship the club would only have to pay £137 a week!

That does read more like a junior/assisting role rather than a senior press officer type position.

Still, one thing you cannot call the club here is two bob - they're clearly nine and three quarters bob.

Share the position among the players in the treatment room. They can save 10quid an hour by making people on thousands of pounds an hour do it.

I’m expecting a hasty rewrite of the ad as we speak.

Seeing as the club we’re content to plunder ideas, expertise and skills from those on the SAB for free, with little if any recognition then actually paying someone to errrrmmm utilise them is a step forward

Isn't this jobs role basically to have copy down something written by someone more senior at the club onto Twitter and then press enter ?
