In an attacking manner, I would say that our team would be best served with Lanzini at the tip of a diamond, with Hernandez and Arnautovic ahead of him.Crouchend_Hammer wrote:I like the cut of your jib onlyonepost, but no way that will happen

Now THIS is a must win game. I may have said that before, this season.
How are we going to do?
See Paddy O'Hammers prediction.

That's what we're all waiting for I suspect.prophet:marginal wrote:In an attacking manner, I would say that our team would be best served with Lanzini at the tip of a diamond, with Hernandez and Arnautovic ahead of him.
Re: Swansea City -v- West Ham Utd : Match Thread (3/3/18)
I would have Reid back in defence simply because he is still one of our best central defenders. Probably move Cresswell out to wing back, assuming we play a back 5, with Zab on the other side because I can't see Moyes picking Byram.
Lanzini definitely to start but not room for Mario as well in my view. With Kouyate and Noble also in midfield and Arnie up top, that leaves room for one more, either Antonio or Hernandez.

Gifting them 3 points would be the worst thing we could do. A point would be better for us than them.Jumby wrote:Sit back and probably get beaten, have a go and maybe win. F**k the point.
Be patient in the game and they will come out to try and win. Then we can strike when they are exposed.
Rush in trying to win and we will be undone.
A point would be an acceptable result.

A point away to a side in a bit of better form under a new manager is always a good result.
Saying that, 3-0 Hammers, a Stoke/Huddersfield style performance.
Adrian
Reid Ogbonna Cresswell
Zabaleta Noble Kouyate Antonio
Lanzini Chicharito
Arnautovic

Equally if we lose and Southampton + Palace win, we could be just a point above the relegation zone (assuming the Geordies don't beat the Scousers!). A draw minimum for us is critical.Peaches wrote:Win this one, and we will most likely be safe as 6 points above the drop zone, and probably in the top half with 6 of our last 9 at home and Arthur coming back. I would go for a line up something like hammer man or Wilko’s. At this point I am cautiously optimistic.

This has got Andre scoring against us, written all over it. Unless he doesn't play...

We need 7 points from the next 9 in my opinion. Think we need to be trying to win on Saturday otherwise pressure is massively on for the next 2 games with the run of games we have at the end of the season. We should go there and attack them, none of this playing for a draw nonsense, go there and let our attacking players win us the game.

No idea what the score will be but I fancy them at home unfortunately.
One things for sure, if you want to make some VERY easy money, put a bet on Andre Ayew scoring at some point during the game. It’s so predictable it’s a joke.

Disagree. We absolutely cannot afford to let them gain ground on us here. We cannot lose this game simple as that. We need four points from the next two as an absolute minimum.Jumby wrote:Sit back and probably get beaten, have a go and maybe win. F**k the point.
I do still think we are good enough to go there and win though personally, even without going gung-ho and especially if we start Arnautovic, Lanzini and Hernandez.
I'd be looking at a solid back four for this game, Swansea aren't going to come flying at us and if they do we have the quality in our front three to pick them off as they are poor at the back. Antonio is the only question mark as I'd love to include him but feel he is better off used as a sub in this one then given a start at home against Burnley.

Ever since I've been going regularly.......76/77.
We have probably beaten Swansea more than any other.
We are The Harlem Globetrotters to their Washington Generals.
Head to head Swansea have won 4 of the last 26 matches .....You have been warned....

Re: Swansea City -v- West Ham Utd : Match Thread (3/3/18)
‘Solid’ and ‘back four’ have not been used to describe a West Ham team for well over 20 months, if not since Allardyce left. We’ll quite rightly play with wing backs.sutts07 wrote:I'd be looking at a solid back four for this game.
Zabaleta at RB with Noble in front of him in a diamond is asking for trouble, any average winger with a bit of pace would have a field day running at a badly exposed aging Zabaleta.
