Re: West Ham United v Southampton Match Thread
I would suggest Southampton players will be bang up for winding him up and getting a clump and seeing him get a red card again
They didn’t have to try hard in the first fixture did they

To be fair Hughes tried to get the Stoke players to do it at the Britannia and he dealt with it really well, shrugging it off and getting the last laugh.sicknote wrote:I would suggest Southampton players will be bang up for winding him up and getting a clump and seeing him get a red card again

Re: West Ham United v Southampton Match Thread
l hope our international players will not suffer injuries whilst playing for their countries next week but I'm not holding my breath over that. Plus we have Hernandez playing (and probably scoring) for Mexico in the USA so he will probably not be back until the Thursday or Friday before the game. Not good preparation (although Moyes might continue not to start him). Not sure how many internationals Southampton have away next week but let's hope they have a few getting injured or travelling long distances too.

Exactly. They may well try but I can't imagine him losing his **** again against the same opposition. He'd have a death wish if he did considering the current desperate state of affairs.
Re: West Ham United v Southampton Match Thread
Like someone has said already they will be petrified walking on to the pitch unless we get behind them from the off.
we dont need any more off what happened against Burnley (fanwise) save the protests till the end of the season! otherwise it will get to the players & we will go down.
I dont like whats going on any more than anyone else but they are my team a team that i have supported through thick & thin since 1958.
So lets not have all this negativety just get behind YOUR TEAM

I just can't see where the next points are coming from.
We are beyond useless.
I can see another three goals scored by a close relegation rival. 1-3 to The Saints.

We couldn't match wigan's guile when we played them. Why should we be able to v the saints.the celestial insect wrote:If we can match Wigan's guile in the first half, we'll win. Therein lies the problem. We're going to need 100% desire.

Protest before not during the game. once started 100% support as we need the win !
forget the 3 -5 at the back it does not stop us conceding and makes us too defensive. need to win. a point is not enough and didn't work at brighton Swansea burnley !
Adrian
zabaleta Collins ogbonna cresswell
Antonio noble rice masuaka
arnie Hernandez
subs hart kouyate Cullen mario lanzini hughill haksagobonovic
lets get at a team for once front foot and win !

Because we used up all our luck in the first half against Wigan. Nobody can be that lucky again.upton o'good wrote:

Steve.
Re: West Ham United v Southampton Match Thread
Very Honest of you Steve !
This really is a MUST win for Southampton as they really need a minimum 10 points from their last 8.
Looking at their remaining games if they don't get 3 points off us they really are done for as its very difficult to see where they will get 9 or 10 from the other 7 games. Plus they have a FA Cup semi final in the mix and that always gets in the way and players don't want to get injured etc for that.
They will have to attack us full on at some point ...... first goal in this game is TRIPLE important than normal.

George I totally agree ....
Whoever loses is done basically.
A draw is marginally better for us.
Ridiculous as I think both teams 'should' be above and better than the next few above them. Certainly the 3 promoted teams ....

I have a feeling Arnie will be the difference in this one for the right reasons. You can tell he's a bit of a sensitive soul really and he will remember the first game and also how Hughes reacted when he came off against Stoke.
If we get a goal in the first half, we will close out a nervy 2-0 win. If we don't score in the first half, then I think it's down to the crown and how we support or hinder the team.
It's an overused phrase but this really is a must win game for both teams.

Anyone care to list who’s on international duty and where and when playing as I’m too lazy lol. Saw ogbonna might get a call for Italy as they’ve got so many injuries lol.

1. Mario is in contention for Portugal vs Egypt, in Egypt
2. Hart....
3. Lanzini joins 6 other players from the Prem, as a squad member away in Italy (reckon that would be a cracking game)
Senegal and Mexico aren't playing any inters, even though they've qualified for WC18.
Nor are Austria, who didn't.
Err, that's about it.

Er, they're both playing two friendlies - Senegal home to Uzbekistan and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mexico home to Iceland and Croatia.prophet:marginal wrote:

Austria play home to Slovenia and away to Luxembourg.
Apart from which, Rice and Cullen are in the Irish U-21 squad, who play two qualifiers (bizarrely, Rice is also in the full Irish squad, not sure how that works).

I stand corrected.
For some reason, the site I went on didn't include them.
