WHU - You can't sit in your seat anymore

Postby Eastbourne Hammer on Tue Mar 27, 2018 1:20 pm

This is a new one for me, just received a call from WHU telling me that my Season Ticket seat (Disabled, just below the Directors Box) is no longer available, possibly for the rest of the season. This is because of the barriers they want to put up (I would think to protect the Directors?) which mean that I'll no longer be able to sit there. I believe I sat right where all the trouble kicked off, but I couldn't make the last game as I wasn't well enough, so can't give definitive confirmation.

I was offered a move to a downgraded seat which I refused - I paid for the best view & that's what I'd like thanks.
I was told that's not an option, where would I like to move to?
My response was, nowhere, you can refund me the rest of my Season Ticket thank you.
On hold for a couple of minutes before they tell me that they'll call me tomorrow to let me know what they'll be doing.
I ask for a time, as I work & as such I need to be able to take the call.
Response, sometime before 5pm tomorrow.

Will let you know what happens with the call tomorrow, should anyone be interested.

I know what we'll do to protect ourselves, we'll move the disabled fans and downgrade them. I'm sure that will not cause any further grievances

Couldn't make it up. How about they move seats?

I'm just interested to see how the barriers will work if they're displacing my seat.

Watch this 'empty' space..... :(

Got to see what the phone call tomorrow says first.

Give them enough rope......

Anything other than, "Sorry, as you were, stay in your seat." can go do one.

That's outrageous! Never mind the rights and wrongs of their approach (and it's clearly wrong), has nobody at the club thought about the horrendous PR this will generate.

I really hope, for your sake, that they rapidly backtrack on this. Why the hell should YOU have to move for THEIR benefit?

Unfortunately my throwing arm now has 18 screws and 3 metal plates in it.
I'd struggle to hit 5 ft in front of me!
The irony is that I didn't even make it to the last game when it all kicked off & the way we're playing I should count myself lucky if I have a worse view of proceedings...

Count yourself lucky mate, the baying mob of hooligans would have had that arm apart just to throw the screws at the board..

Many thanks on this one, it'd be nice to know what's going on.

At present I don't know if it's all disabled fans from my area, just me (my seat is adjacent to one of the walkways from the lower stands), or if the people who called me have the faintest idea what's going on. I think I was just expected to say, "Yes" to a move to the STB/BM Lower Stands.

Should I wait until the call tomorrow, or is that just giving them a chance to get rid of me for the rest of the season? I'll be honest and say that I'm at a bit of a loss at present.....

Suppose I'd better go and do some work now, thanks for the kind offer.

"Will you take 10 old boleyn seats and a lump of turf in a box? RRP: £550"

Another in a growing list of things they've done since the Burnley game to further stoke the fires, clueless idiots, Southampton could get messy.

Sorry Eastbourne, as 1 of the hundreds that occupied the space beneath them I feel I owe you a bit of an apology. You shouldn't have to suffer as a result.

All they have to do is man the barriers and allow the disabled fans to take their seats.

Why do they always over complicate these things?
