Isn't that when he signed his new contract?faubert93 wrote:

For example under 'longest serving players', Ogbonna is down as joining in 2017 and not 2015.

So you are both right he will be here for 5 years but little of it will be on the pitch.Hammersfaniow wrote:

It's definitely not peanuts to any club outside the top 4.Tackler wrote:75 million is peanuts btw in today's market ! So if they want to make sure we wont be battling relegation next year then they better spend 75 million NET! If they cannot then they simply just have to sell up and **** off.
Average net spend over the last 5 seasons:
1. Man City - £112m a year.
2. Man United - £87m a year.
3. Chelsea - £37m a year.
4. Arsenal - £37m a year.
5. Palace - £27m a year.
West Ham - £15m a year.

Indeed saying that they will spend 75m in no way means they won't be selling much of that amount too. Plus of course we have all the wages and other financial inducements and Agent fees that they always add to their financial outgoings while ignoring it when its in their savings column.somerset-hammer wrote:Tackler, no chance will we have a £75m NET spend!
You should know, how they work by now.

Interesting, especially when you consider the prices on the transfer market.DDHammer wrote: It's definitely not peanuts to any club outside the top 4.

What about the other clubs?

It is peanuts this window when we haven't spent nearly as much as we should have done over the last 5 windows.DDHammer wrote: It's definitely not peanuts to any club outside the top 4.

I just cant see Seri happening, he seems to be linked to every top club over here, I just cant see us pipping them.
Did anyone watch much of krychowiak last season? He should be off cheap. Wonder if its worth throwing our hat in

If Man Utd really do want Arnie, they will surely get him so getting Martial and Smalling in exchange wouldn’t be the worst piece of business in the world.
Still think he will be with us when the window slams shut though

I don't get why it's so important how big our net spend is. If we bring in 5 players (IF) of better quality than we already have, and dispose of a few lesser lights and keep the net spend down as well what's not to like? If we have a net spend of £75m, we'll surely suffer the next 2 windows. Better to keep a steady flow of funds than do an everton and splash a load of cash in one go. Mind you, Sulli might fancy funding some nice lucrative loans to the club.

Wow. I wanted Reid to sign a new contract a few years ago as much as anyone. But whoever decided to give him one for that long needs their head testedNeverSayDie wrote:https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/201 ... d-contract" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

5 years? Crikey. With the injuries he keeps getting i doubt he will even be playing in 5 years. I think somebody noted that he had a worse injury record than Big Andy.
