Ward Prowse doesn't even start every game for a poor Southampton side, he is at best a highlights player

At a rough guess that would be

GK - £20m
CB - £20m (if Evans' release clause is true)
MF - Somewhere north of £50m
ST - £30m

+ £3-400k a week in wages

Give me a hit on that pipe please mate!

If Moyes presented that list to the owners I reckon he'd be told he could get 2/3 of them at best.

For me it's a no brainer, we need more pace and I will be disappointed if we don't address this.

When you have pace in the side it's always a worry for the opposition, they can't afford to push to many men forward which makes it easier to defended, plus having pace you can hit them on the break before they have time to get organise, something we haven't done since Valencia & Sacko.

Pace pace and more pace.

CJ Ujah would come for £20k per week I reckon and he's easily as good at football as Kyle Walker (faster too)

RB - Byram, injuries and quality - 2m
CM - Mario, wont pay what Inter want - 0
CAM - Lanzini, Reckon we will cash in - 30m
RM - Snodgrass, champ team - 12m
ST - Hernandez, wants to leave - 12m

Ins
GK - Hart, free + reduced wages

I cannot believe that some are seriously suggesting Joe Hart.

There is a report this morning that Moyes was scouting Fulham's keeper the other night. Is he able to move on a free at the end of the season, does anybody know ?

How much do we reckon Shaqiri would cost? I'd be happy if we went all out to bring him in.

£20m sounds about right for this club...after all it's only twice what they recently took in interest on their loans.

The 2 Saints fans I was talking to on Saturday tell me neither Tadic nor Ward -Prowse put the effort in to warrant regular starts, let alone bids from us.

Gotta be less than Arnie if Stoke go down.

a good keeper signing would be either of the burnley keepers, heaton or pope. One of them is going to be second choice so we should try and get whichever one of them ends up being second choice.

Trying to get in the mind of Sully

In

Luke Shaw (Free) Young Manchester United and England Star Signs
Ryan Fredericks (Free) Championships best right back signs.
Daley Blind (Free) Versatile Holland international signs to help West Ham challenge for Europe.
Jonny Evans (£3million) West Ham have beaten off competition from Man City and Arsenal to sign Ex champions league star Evans.
Shaqiri - (15million) - West Ham move quick to secure Stoke Ace signature to reunite him with Arnie.
Deodonker (£15 Million) - We finally got our main man.
Johnstone (£5 million) - England future number 1 signs.
Iker Casillas (Free) - World cup, champions league winner moves to London Stadium.
Arter (5 Million) international star signs on the dotted line.

Outs

Reece Oxford - 10 Million - Oxford didn't want to play for West Ham anymore.
Manual Lanzini - 25 Million - We could of got more but Lanzini only wanted to go to Barcelona.
Javier Hernandez - 12 Million - The offer was to good to refuse.

All summer we will be chasing a star striker (Benzema) for £40 million to break our transfer record and end up with no one.

we need to spend some serious cash if we´re to avoid the same scenario next season. Since we´ve basically spent nothing (net) in the last Three windows, we should have a large war chest, of course we all know that we won´t.

What we need:

Back up Keeper: Johnstone
CB: Smalling or Mawson
DM: Carvalho
CM. Mario on a perm
Wingers: Shaqiri and retain Snodgrass.

Out.
Ginge
Kouyate if a good bid comes in.
Hart

This will never happen with the current owners though.

Some good ideas here.

Of course, we will get players we can get as opposed to what we need. It'll start with a 'seasoned' out of contract pro signed early doors to debut the new away shirt, then loads of links to good players but the usual scattergun approach delivering underwhelming signings. All in the midfield.

Realistically, it is unlikely the promised signing strategy will kick in soon, so I see no reason why we should expect more of the same. That window when we bought astutely with Cresswell and Kouyate seems like a lifetime away...

It's the hope that kills!

Bill wrote:Why do we put ourselves through this bull**** every transfer window? You know Sullivan won't spend proper money. We've been complaining that he's bleeding the club dry, and then all of a sudden people on here convince themselves that we have decent targets. We will spend feck all and use the scattergun as usual. You know this!!
Spot on Bill. I wouldn't be surprised at the £20m budget either, doesn't even get you one top player now. Hopelessly imbalanced and ageing squad which will still be so come August. As others have said, if we don't go down this season it will be next season with the likes of Wolves and Villa probably coming up. Most clubs will spend more on a single player than we do on our entire spend!

Is this even a Transfer thread, until hammerman11 has listed the players he wants on every page?

DDA
Apart from the fact that Evans is apparently available at 3m when WBA go down, Wilshere and Balotelli are on frees and by your inflated thinking those we sell would raise 250m!!!
