Alan Brazil will go off bang one day soon. Very overweight and a liking for the high life it would appear.

I mentioned recently that I was surprised Ryan Babel has only just turned 31. Same as our Vaz Te who played with the likes of Gary Speed, Nakata, Okocha, N'Gotty, Hierro, Djorkaeff and Campo. Not checked the factual accuracy but I think VT was there when all those players were.

Apparently when he joined Newcastle he said he knew Babayaro from Nigerian youth football. At the time Martins was supposedly 22 and Babayaro was 29. African football is the gift that keeps on giving

Slightly off topic but Kane makes short list for YOUNG player of the year (PFA).

25 in the summer, you're right that is totally ridiculous.

feel young player of the year should be u23, and arguably have an additional requirement that you havent been a first team regular for years. (tricky to define, I know). Surely Kane has been player of the year, maybe at the least that should rule out eligibility for young player

Was Herita Ilunga's true age ever revealed? Impressive first season then became a king of calamities and handballs. Rumour was that he was considerably older than we thought.

Would be interesting to see a world's best team of active players over 30 - it'd become Sullivan's shopping list for the summer though so best not...

The words 'world's best' would, by definition, mean they wouldn't be on Sully's shopping list.

Try 'world's cheapest'.

As a kid, I remember looking at my Panini sticker albums, and thinking that an awful lot of Scottish footballers must have had long paper rounds.

Arthur Graham (Man Utd around 1984ish) looked older to me than Private Godfrey.
