West Ham Utd 3-1 Everton (13/05/18)

Post by Samba »

Sunday 13th May k/o 3pm

Ok, I know the excitement's almost too much but here it is, the last game of the PL, 17/18 season.
I want revenge for one of our worst results (4-0), this season.
After ManU Thursday night, this equally has got 0-0, written all over it, but you never know.

Bring on the summer! :crest: :scarfer:

Quite possibly the least interesting end of season game we have had. Two dull, negative teams managed by two dull, negative dinosaurs. The players can't wait for it to be over and won't want to go on their exotic holidays carrying an injury.

I predict there will be circa 40,000 watching a dull 0-0.

Has there ever been 2 dour managers facing each other with uncertain futures on the last game of the season with neither fanbase exactly overjoyed by the thought of them staying on..

This could go down as 1 of Footballs biggest ironies by producing a rip snorter of a game ending 5-5. :raver:

Always cracks me up to hear non professionals dismissing those who have made professional lives for themselves in this game for decades, let alone years.

Isn’t there about 10m up for grabs in league places for us?

Sullivan will be picking the team this week and I’d expect Carroll AND Arnautovic to start... dizzy heights for us :D

Lets not be total c****, give poor Hughil just one game before we sell him in the summer. There is nothing to play for and nothing hanging on the result and tbh, I think I would re-vamp the strarting eleven for this match.

Hart, Rice, Ginge, Og. Cresswell
Cullen, Browne, Obiang, Arthur,
Hughil, Carroll

If there was something hanging on the result it would be different, but there isn't

theres about 10m dependent on positions riding on it. for us that is a lot.

no way does hart start

Collins wont be fit enough but be nice for a final game for him
hughill also be nice for him to start

I want to win every game so a few changes maybe depending on recovery from last night

In a surprise twist, caretaker manager Stuart Pearce to pick Thomas Hitzelsperger as captain.

.. think I might have got my years mixed up.

Guaranteed to be a 3-2 nail biter with shockingly good football and a cheeky wave from Samuel. Afterwards, there’ll be certain people absolutely nailed on to proclaim this as evidence of halcyon days under either one
of these chaps. Also possibly a LBM style match winning effort from Mario or the likes that nets them a 3 year deal and no one bats an eyelid as they’ve scored a volley

Or: 0-0, with a random player omission (maybe Lanzini?) that guarantees a summer of assuming they’re off

I would put Hart in, not because I think he is the better of the two keepers, but because I think he will need a game before the World Cup, always assuming he will make the squad, which he probably will. After the match, he will then make make his way back up the M1 and M6 with one last final appearance for us

Since the team have metaphorically failed to turn up for the last few weeks, why even bother playing this one? Send the players on holiday a few days early and save us all the pain of watching two sides put out by two negative soon to be ex managers grinding out a bore-draw.
Let the junior supporters have a kick about on the pitch instead! The club may lose the three points, but could cover any fine with the profits from the oversized and overpriced indoor tat stall... If anyone is actually attending the game, please wish Fat Sam and his mini-me Moyes a fond farewell from the Premier League...
