Who would you manage?

Postby jphammer341 on Wed May 16, 2018 2:22 pm

Just interested to see what people thought but outside of the top 6 who would you like to manage (us included but imagine if we werent fans)?

I have friends who range the premier league spectrum and all seem to be moaning or worried about something to do with their club so i was wondering if you were a manager who would you go for?

A rough list of things to take into account including but not limited to:
- geography
- budget
- stadium
- working conditions
- playing staff
- budget
- autonomy of buying and selling
- future prospects
- fan interaction

I have no idea im kind of torn between wolves (because of their budget) and potentially one of the smaller clubs that are yet to be completely ruined by the premier league and all the cash

I think there are probably 4 that are "bigger" than the rest in terms of fan base, history and stadium size and then 2 that have had fairly recent success that would be good to manage being:

Everton
Newcastle
West Ham
Wolves

Leicester
Southampton

Wolves, Leicester or Everton being the top 3 for me. The other 3 are hugely hampered by dodgy owners or transfer policies. Everton are probably the biggest pull due to the new stadium and the size of the fan base and fairly regular European campaigns.

Brighton.

Nice stadium and a club-supporting chairman that really seems to want to do things the right way. Also, just across the road from my office, so I wouldn't have to change my commute.

I took my lad for a tour around Celtic Park recently [ around 4 weeks' ago ] - we were allowed into the dug-outs but not onto the pitch itself , then we sat in the Director's Box - it's an impressive arena , was very envious after reading how unhappy the West Ham fans are with the London Stadium .

The thing is about Scottish football , even if you become the best as Celtic have become after the decline of Rangers you're still playing the likes of Ross County , Partick Thistle , Inverness Caley 4 times a season therefore improving yourself as a player must be difficult as you're getting dragged down to the level of the less gifted teams a lot of the time [ think Shrewsbury v West Ham this past season ] - to improve as a player [ and possibly a Manager ] you need to play with and against the best players , this doesn't happen in the SPL .

I wouldn't want to Manage any Club other than West Ham , managing Wales would be good though .

Coventry. Liked the place when I lived there and I've never seen a place go as mental as they did when they won the FA Cup. My very first two-day hangover. :)

Plymouth Argyle
I love the south west, and I reckon they are a club with huge potential as are Bristol City.

I'd love to manage Spurs.

I'd sell Kane to West Ham and oversee relegation in my first season. :scarfer:
