I’m not saying it’s good or even acceptable, I suppose just somewhat understandable

Comprehensively beaten by the team sitting 1st.
Deservedly beaten by a goal by the team sitting 5th.
Should have got something - could have won - against the team sitting 7th
Should have got something - could have won - against the team sitting 12th.
We've yet to play what appears the real dross in the league (obviously we can't play ourselves!).

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager
Saying Rafa was one of the best coaches last year is a stretch! Newcastle should be a mid table team. Dyche yes, but then Burnley were punching way above their weight and have come back to earth. Roy, Pep, Klopp and Dyche would be my top four. Rafa would be in the second tier with the likes of Moyes, Howe and Mourinho - guys who did well and made the most of their squads without really dramatically overperforming.Wilko1304 wrote:
Only three overall in the Premier League, I think? And 3 months come the end of the Wolves game doesn’t fit for me.
And you could say we’re only one point behind two of the best coaches of last season, Benitez and Dyche, who should know their teams inside out.
Again, form and such can change that. He probably also knows that new signings need time to settle

I must admit with every passing week, I am more and more warming to the idea of Eddie Howe, but if were him, I would stay where I am

With only a few games played this season, the reason the teams are so far up the league is because we lost to them and gave them three points!bubbles1966 wrote:Comprehensively beaten by the team sitting 1st.

Your argument might be more valid towards the end of the season. For example the team in 12th you refer to, only have 5 points, of which we gave them three!

Comes across as far too smart to end up here.Puff Daddy wrote:I must admit with every passing week, I am more and more warming to the idea of Eddie Howe, but if were him, I would stay where I am
At least not until he’s tried and failed at a club above us first.
We get them on the way down, not on the way up.

Top 10 with that squad and a twat of an owner? As a promoted side too. Better job than Roy, who had an expensively assembled squad and arguably the outstanding performer outside the top six in Zaha. Compare the standard starting lineups - Rob Elliot, Ciaran Clark and Joselu were holding that side together! Whereas Roy’s Palace without Zaha are embarrassing, lost every game without him in Roy’s time. Roy did well considering he had the job after 4 straight De Boer defeats (Roy himself was in charge of the next three in that 7 defeat run), but they’ve got arguably 9 better starting players every week.Ironing Board wrote: Saying Rafa was one of the best coaches last year is a stretch! Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager
I have wanted eddie howe as our manager for ages. to me he would be the ideal man and part of a long term view to turn us around. we have MP who even if successful will be a quick fix and then what ? hopefully howe will join us.
his teams are all the things we are not !
1. hard working
2. tactically aware
3. fit
4. well coached
5. skilful
6. committed fully
7. never give up, how many times do they score late goals
8.exciting to watch
9. attack minded
10. pace all over the team
11. plays young players
100% our next manager but someone will get to him before us.

Ashley is actually quite a good owner - he lets his managers get on with it with minimal interference. He won’t sink lots of money in, but that is after he fell out with the fans. He basically runs it as a business now.Wilko1304 wrote:

Agree 100% with your comments above, but it is important to remember that Bournemouth team is totally his team. I also think Howe is more a coach, than a manager, not that would have issue with that. It appears to me, he has a fabulous working relationship with Bournemouth's owners, who just let him get on with working with his players and there is no interference from above. If he were to become our supremo, he would inherit a whole load of issues, working with players, that are not his team, GS&B and of course, there is always our training ground, compared with what he is used to

agree for howe to be our manager we would need a few things to change
1. gsb gone
2. new owners
3. own the bowl outright
4. luck
not looking great on any of those currently but who knows in 3 years where we will be !

Absolutely bondsobob.
Looks like the players are starting to 'get it' and I hope it continues to get better. We were good today, very good, and signs are there.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager
It's no surprise we played much better today whilst playing a much more balanced system. Hopefully Pellers realises this and persists with it, if we are to play a flat back for we need at least two defensive midfielders, whilst you could argue we actually played three today.BondsoBob wrote:One swallow doesn't make a summer and all that, but things are looking considerably brighter for him after today.
Hopefully we can pick up a few points over our next four league games as after that we have a really decent run of fixtures that we should be looking to capitalise on.

Get in Pelboy
Some of the **** thrown at the bloke by people who “know better” has been shocking, even when we’ve seen the start of some decent actual football, some of us in the flesh.
Getting ****ing absolutely slated for not starting Carlos Sanchez...
He’s gonna do well here. Now for THE big home win please

Top tactics today, and excellent substitutions. Can’t really ask for more.
