Would have kept the score to 0-0 if the Ref hadn't given Man City that penalty - he's been very impressive all season apart from maybe a couple of mistakes .

Shame we didn't sign him 10 years ago .

Lost out to Ben Foster last night in the London Football Awards.

I've not seen much of Foster but he must be having some season to be considered a better 'keeper than Fabianski.

He needs to work on his kicking. I think teams arestarting to target him on that. If you hurry him he will bang it out to the touch line

Lukasz Fabianski, West Ham
Snapped up for a fraction of the price of the goalkeepers mentioned above, Fabianski looked like a shrewd purchase at the time and has proven just that. The Pole, once renowned for the errors that quickly halted any hopes of a future at Arsenal, has been one of the best shot stoppers in the league for a number of years and has all but eradicated the costly mistakes from his game. Alisson is the only regular keeper in the league with a better save-success rate this season (73.7%), but Fabianski has produced almost double as many saves (126 to 64). He has made the most saves in the league by a distance and has committed just one error leading to a goal; Alisson and Leno have committed three each. Rating: 7.03

Article from the guardian and whoscored that confirm's what we already knew.

Namely that Fabianski is an excellent keeper.

But even so, I was surprised to see that he has the best save-success rate (I know he's faced a lot of shots). But also how few errors he's made, especially when you think how over worked he is compared to someone like Alisson.

It's not mentioned in the article but I've also been impressed by how good he is when dealing with crosses and how he always looks to catch the ball rather than punch, relieving so much pressure in the process and calming situations down.

Well deserved. Our best 'keeper since Rob Green was at the peak of his powers.

Still have nightmares of when David James was in goal, the whole crowd would take a deep breath on every pass back.

It’s remarkable what spending money does.

Fab is our most expensive ever GK signing and in the post Ludo era we spent money on Green and James. Green was easily our most consistent keeper and James was an England mainstay when with us. The loans and freebies have not had the same success.
