Wenger has never made a keeper look good mate. Forgot his Arsenal days, hes been class since he left those slagsbubbles1966 wrote:Very pleasantly surprised by this bloke.
My memory was him being not very good at Arsenal, I never really took much notice of him at Swansea.
So far, the only weakness in his game is his kicking. His actual 'keeping is very solid in every respect - shot stopping, handling, crosses.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
I questioned this signing in the summer and if it was an upgrade at all, but so far hes been streets ahead of every keeper weve had probably since green.

41% passing though Bristol.............
think it started off all horribly Peter Tong when he whiffed that back pass, followed by Balbuena doing the same thing.........
don't expect our keeper in the circumstances today to be great, but that's not going to get it done long term...
only fault though.....
other than that, superb..........

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
A keepers passing stats are dictated by what their manager asks them to do with the ball. De Gea for example would have much worse stats in that department than say Ederson. I wouldnt be looking to much into that to be honestCuenca 'ammer wrote:41% passing though Bristol.............

YWN
agreed mate, but I thought today his kicking was awful as were some of his decisions to punt when only Antonio was alone up top...I don't think we won one header up there either....
I said I was happy with his performance and obviously he was told not to play short, even though Chelsea didn't seem to be pressing...........
nice to see that Pellers isn't a one trick pony...good job we didn't go gung ho against that lot.....
he obviously took my advice, I said "Park the bus" and he pretty much did..

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
Wasn't convinced by his signing but he has demonstrated that he is a class above Adrian, I think. He has been excellent and composed even in the earlier defeats.
What really brought it home today was the David Luiz free-kick, which was in a very dangerous position. It went through/around the wall but, what was significant was that he made the save look comfortable and smothered it completely.
I think that Adrian would have palmed that one theatrically out, thus keeping us under pressure. The fact that Fab grabbed it just made everything feel calm and that's so important.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
A gk that predominately kicks long is always going to have worse passing stats than one who plays short to a FB so it’s a meaningless stat in my opinion.
He’s made an excellent, composed and assured start - easy to see why Swansea fans made him their player of the season last year. Our best value signing.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
I wasn't sure we needed another keeper when we signed him, but he's been so consistent in the face of some awful defending that I've completely changed my mind. Now the defence is beginning to improve he might be called on a bit less in the future
Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
I remember reading the Swansea forums as we signed him and I didn't see one person criticise him which to me says it all. I can't think of many players who would get that kind of send off in our current squad. I was never worried that he'd do a good job.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
When someone saves it with their face you would usually put it down to luck but its not the first time he has done it since he has joined  He really does spread himself well and he is a brave keeper, he puts the defence at ease as he makes good decisions with crosses into the box as well.
I am really impressed with him, best signing for us so far

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
So far he is looking to be a great acquisition, long may that continue.
If the biggest (only) criticism of him is sometimes a bit of wayward kicking, that'll do for me
