Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
Fabianski struggled at Arsenal, where some games he had nothing to do for long spells then made simple mistakes when called on - so looked poor.
At Swansea he was far more busy and saved a lot of shots - so looked better.
Even with an improved defence (big assumption) his workload will be nearer Swansea than Arsenal at West Ham.
Should be better than Hart, and will either push Adrian to up his game (and keep Fabianski out of the team) or will be more consistent than Adrian - looks like a good signing to me.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
He has filled me with alot more confidence than i've felt for the last few years. Definite upgrade.
Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
He is absolutely class. Adrian has been a good keeper and a great personality over the years for us, but Fab is the real deal and we are very lucky to have him.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
Whilst I wouldn't necessarily apportion blame to him for Wolves's goal yesterday, there wasn't much he could do to prevent it, I did note he didn't move his feet to his right, which would have meant he could get a bit of spring into his dive to his right to keep it out. I think De Gea, who does do this, might have got to itOzza wrote:

A big upgrade on what we've had in recent years, I definitely feel more comfortable with him between the sticks. To be super critical though, his kicking wasn't great yesterday - the amount of times he kept slicing it out of his hands and off the ground therefore giving the ball back to Everton. Put your laces through it lad!!

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
Same exact thoughts here. He IS an upgrade, but not a huge one. Fab & Adrian is a good 1st/2nd choice combination.Jedi Al Khalaas wrote:Ii like Adrian , but Fabianski looks like a slight upgrade

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
He seems to read the game really well getting off his line quickly when needed.
The punches worry me a little but I think he has been excellent so far.

Yep, I've been pleased with Flap. He's looked solid and good value at £7m, and is a clear upgrade on the mental Spanish glove chucker.e17 wrote:Comfortably our best summer signing so far for me.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
He has played well, still not as good as Adrian who finished last season brilliantly, only thing that concerns me with Fabianski is he always seems to push the ball directly in front of him rather than sideways.

Finally got a keeper
Couldnt find his thread so if hes got one please merge. Just think its massive for us that we've spent decent money on a keeper in his prime. First time in a long time ive been confident someone between the sticks for us isnt 5 minutes away from a terrible decision. Dont get me wrong weve had a few good shot stoppers but this guy has the lot. Top signing

Re: Finally got a keeper
Very pleasantly surprised by this bloke.
My memory was him being not very good at Arsenal, I never really took much notice of him at Swansea.
So far, the only weakness in his game is his kicking. His actual 'keeping is very solid in every respect - shot stopping, handling, crosses.
