Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
Unless Adrian is going for at least the same money then this is a very strange signing for me. Not an improvement, basically like for like in terms of quality...
Hard to get excited about it.
That said:
Right back sorted - been hanging over us for years really
New young centre half - encouraging
New GK - replaces the outgoing Hart, who replaced the outgoing Rudolph so we basically have parity in that position
Building from the back which is never a bad idea and looking like he has a long term plan in mind. Need a few more though.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
Adrian is a nice guy not a great keeper him and hart let in so many goals last season it was criminal and their distribution of the ball is awful.
Fabianski is imo a much better keeper..
However they do say opinions are like arseholes everyone has one.

Fabianski is a far superior keeper than Adrian, don't let his 'passion' fool you. Big upgrade. Great signing

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
Shrewd purchase in my opinion. We need another 'experienced keeper'. More 'footballing keeper' that is in line with the managers philosophy. Doesn't cost a fortune, so more left for other 'priority' signings. I don't see anything not to like.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
Have a feeling we'll lose Adrian to Spain and bring in another keeper to replace him. I'd love if it were Zack Steffen from the States or Darren Bentley from Brenford. Start Fabianski this season and use Steffen/Bentley as his understudy and the cup keeper.Diogenes wrote:We need another 'experienced keeper'. You may be right Mr Boleyn, so long as it doesn't diminish too much our budget for other priority outfield players. I would be delighted if Adrian stays and fights for his place, but not sure if he will.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
As long as he can save balls that go low and to his left, he’ll be an enormous improvement on Joseph Heart.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
An article on the official site lists him as our second summer signing. Probably means he was officially signed before Diop but they delayed the announcement for one reason or another

I never said there wasn't time. Just more to do.goa127 wrote: It's only the middle of June!
Hopefully more like the first two

That’s what many said about signing Hart,Lincolnhammer92 wrote:Fabianski is a far superior keeper than Adrian, don't let his 'passion' fool you. Big upgrade. Great signing
I hope Fabianski works out, but I’d have stuck with Adrian as our number one and brought in a young keeper for the future to play back-up.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
Not enough of an upgrade to justify the lay out on a 33 year old I don’t think. It’s a shame we didn’t scout properly and find someone with more upside.
33 is not a good age for a goalkeeper in 2018.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
This is a very good Joe Hart upgrade. If we lose Adrian we should go and get another keeper of similar calibre but this is a keeper with good stats:.
:
He had the second highest number of saves in the PL
He saved the most penalties
He had the second highest number of high claims
He made no errors that led directly to goals, Joe Hart made 4.
He let in 20% fewer goals than our two dd combined.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
Cant quite believe some people think Adrian is as good as him. They're miles apart imo
Really good signing and in my eyes an obvious upgrade on what we've got
I hope Adrian stays though. Hes a perfect crazy No.2

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs
I'm struggling to find it an exciting signing. I'm definitely one of those who believes that we haven't got a keeper problem, the issue is with the ten c**** who play in front of him.
De Gea would look **** behind our defence.
