Steady on fella! Given the ‘outrage’ spouted here over Popcorn being available, I fear that also adding Peanuts to the menu might push them into a full-blown riot…

Anyone remember the seafood stall on Barking Rd? I used to get a tub of cockles for myself and sometimes took home a tub of jellied eels for my Mum and Dad, was a good few years ago probably in the nineties when the stall disappeared.

My apologies, I should have said 'peanut vendors to peanut spenders'.

Seemed to be doing quite a trade as well.
Can you imagine that on Olympic way, or whatever it's called?

Chestnuts and Whitebait in the 60's didn't like either but my Uncle used t6o love them. I can remember the peanut sellers .
In the South bank a couple of blokes put the shells in Mad Monty's bugle poor bastards in front of Monty showered in peanut shells and spit, but gawd did we laugh. Monty wasn't too pleased though.

Totally harmless, recall he bought a box of Trill in one week and tried to throw it over Budgie Byrne. Any lull in play and the bugle started.

Used to get the odd bag of nuts from him in the North bank, would shout out and pass the money down and it was handed Down by three or four people then he'd chuck the bags of nuts at you. Was at an England game many years ago and heard the cry PEAAANNNUUUUUUTTTTTTSSSSSs and there he was, he saw me and shouted, "hello boy see you next Saturday" no idea how he reacognised me.
But what was hotter, the cheese and onion pasties or the bovril? Got burnt by both on many occasions.

First time I have looked at the thread, thought Sullivan & Gold Peanut Sellers Ltd has been launched, I can just see them and their families on match days making themselves a few more pennies for the bank! they will look good in Peanut Costumes!

We used to throw the bus conductors ticket rolls.

The old buses near the back had a little compartment where the conductor kept his spare rolls, we would take a few on our way off the buss when he was upstairs taking fares.

They used to travel much further onto the pitch than the bog rolls :D
