Actually I'll revise my line-up. It's unfair to move Anderson away from that left-wing and he should be allowed longer to grow into the role and adapt to the pace of the premier league. I'd find room for Perez though as we're lacking that final killer ball at the moment. So after a rethink, I'd go exactly with Pobs lineup above.

I can see no further than another hiding here I'm afraid.
MP needs to shuffle the pack and somehow attempt to plug the gaping holes that lead directly to our goal.

Yep. Another pasting coming up I fear. But still too early to press the panic button.

I'd go for the following

Fabianski

Fredericks
Balbuena
Ogbonna
Cresswell

Sanchez
Wilshere

Perez
Andersen
Yarmolenko

Arnautovic

BENCH: Adrian, Zabaleta, Diop, Masuaku, Noble, Antonio, Chicharito

Although I don't think Fabianski is any better than Adrian, there are certain positions in which we shouldn't chop and change. Same goes for Ogbonna, whom I would happily swap out of the back four.

Cresswell needs to play left back as Masuaku can't. Let's give Sanchez a go at the DMC role.

I quite liked Perez when he came on, and would like to see more of him. Andersen might be better off in the middle.

Personally, I'd revert to a 3-4-2-1 and treat it as a practice game for the team that was going to start against Wolves.

Just like Man City away last year, getting a performance and a recognisable pattern of play is perhaps more important than anything.

Until Rice made a ricket in about the 80th minute we were well in the game at theirs in April.

In two matches we've barely threatened the oppositions goal while leaking like a sieve at our end.

I can't identify a single aspect of our play that I'm happy with -we can't attack, defend, press, stand off, we're lost in no mans land. The players are confused, the manager razzle bedazzled .

The manager of course is hostage to the fortune we are led to believe he as spent on some players, and he will feel compelled to play them or the Chairman may start to have doubts as to his judgement.

He's also a prisoner of a footballing philosophy that this group of players isn't capable of delivering, determined to play 4 at the back without, as yet, showing the mettle to make the decisions on the personnel in front of them that may help facilitate that.

Furthermore, if we look at the two goals conceded yesterday , the first came from a 40 yard pass that took out our midfield, with Wilson running off the back of an already booked Noble. Once Wilson was the wrong side of him,he was out of the game, unable to challenge as a red card would be likely. Therefore, as Wilson bore down on goal, the 4 defenders he still had to get past made a couple of errors between them .Firstly either Balbuena or Ogbonna should have stepped out of the line early and got a tackle in on Wilson, or at the very worst, bring him down and take the yellow for the team. However, having been booked at Anfield last week, and no doubt given a chat by the coaching staff as a consequence, he hesitated and stuck out the flimsiest of legs which Wilson skimmed around. Then, Zabaleta made the next error, diving in rather than staying on his feet and forcing Wilson wide to narrow the angle.....their second goal was after Ogbonna lost his personal battle with Cook, but nobody was designated to attack the ball.

Basic, bad defending which the manager cannot legislate for, but having spent £20m on Diop it poses the question as to why he cannot get a game to replace either Oggy or the General.

So given those limitations the best I can see him coming up with for next Saturday would be.....

---------------------------------------------Fabianski-----------------------------------

Fredericks------------------Balbuena--------------Ogbonna----------Cresswell

------------------------------------Sanchez----------Noble--------------------------

Yarmalenko--------------------------------Perez----------------------Anderson

-------------------------------------------Arnie---------------------------------------------

Sanchez to sit in front of the back 4, ensuring the ball is in front of him.

Noble to provide the pass to Perez who feeds the other front 3.When the full backs bomb forward Noble also sits and the CB's fan wide to cover the gaps left by the advancing full backs, and Perez drops a little deeper.

7 of his signings on the pitch from the first minute, a better protected back4 and some attacking intent if we get sight of the ball,

Priority No.1 though is to avoid a heavy 4 or 5 nil defeat..

I showed my working out

Plus I've got Perez in the middle of the three, you appear to have him on the flank, and Anderson in the middle.

Arsenal will be a tough one as it always is , we'll have to be at the top of our game and everyone will have to take responsibility , no hiding because you're a new player , get stuck in and do your best , that's all West Ham supporters will ask of you .

That's a good assessment of how toilet we are. I think your opening line had a typo. We have been this bad for the last 2 seasons, let alone the last 2 matches.

In a stadium that is not a football stadium, we will never a see a football team. Simple!

@ Pinky

in the last 2 matches we have seen 3 changes in personnel and it seems a change in tactics..

4-5-1 last week and 4-2-2-2 yesterday. I am all for a settled tactical formation and knowing that we had a good chance of winning 2 up top was a good idea.

we also seem to have abandoned the high line offside tactic.

short wonder players seems confused and out of sync.

trouble is we have been beating the drum that even in preseason we have been all over the place and that less the PL opponents have been creating chances like there's no tomorrow. We only scored 3 once. Short wonder then that we are still leaking and not scoring from open play.

early doors of course but worrying signs nonetheless....
