Big relegation scrap in front of a 75% full ground at Cardiff.

Now that Hughes is gone, I hope Southampton survives.

How much will be enough to survive? Reckon 37. Impossible to say though.

No, I am absolutely certain we will win. (Just like I was about Watford and Burnley) :(

I think the barcodes will go. They can't buy a goal, only 16 scored - less than Cardiff and only just in front of Huddersfield.

I think Huddersfield and Fulham are gone, it's take an amazing turnaround for either of them to stay up.

Southampton aside, the rest of the bottom six are f**king awful, absolutely terrible. Fulham and Huddersfield are down, no question, it's up to Cardiff, Newcastle and Burnley to see who can be bad enough to join them. I'd like to see Newcastle go down again and have a Derby with Sunderland in the second tier.

There’s always one team with the capability of blowing up. I hope this Arnie situation isn’t the catalyst. I hope we don’t go into freefall. I think we still need three more wins.

Honestly, there is about as much chance of us winning the league as there is of us getting relegated.

Cardiff are currently above the relegation zone with 19 points after 22 games, assuming the teams at the bottom continue to earn points at the same rate, we would only need 33 points to be safe. It’s highly unlikely 40 points will be needed to stay up, whilst it’s also highly unlikely we won’t get at least 45 points this season.

Personally I’ll be surprised if we don’t get over 50 points. For some context, we have 16 games left and have earned 27 points in our last 16 games, that would leave us with 58 points.

We're 31pts from 22 games, but you could argue the first few games were very much "team in transition" so you could say half a season, and 60 points is the target.

It's achievable for us - injuries and departures permitting.

Good wins last night for Newcastle & Fulham - will be a few teams looking over their shoulders.

If anyone thinks we still have a chance of going down then its currently 500/1 :D

I reckon 18th place will finish on 34 points or less. We're fine.

not knocking you James - but in December we were squabbling about finishing 6th (can we catch ManU) and now we're back to saying "we have enough points to be safe.."......only here lads, only here....

Sendo I know you posted that on 13th January but 60 points attainable? Crikey we don't look like getting 40 at this rate! Certainly after that farce last night. Optimism isn't a bad thing but this time a little over-optimistic I fancy!

We are 4 points away from 7th..

Things have been bad, things have been good, now things are bad again, what's to say things won't be good again, we're consistently inconsistent.

Keep looking up, no need to look down.
