1980 FA cup reunion at Southend theatre 11th October

Postby westhamshares on Thu Oct 04, 2018 11:37 am

Anyone else going to this on Thursday 11th October

Apparently and unusually this will be a full team reunion

I’m going with doc ball and mushy amongst others

No doubt the audience will be full of us over 50 year olds reminiscing about the allegedly good old days

I’m not an organiser and get nothing for posting this public information notice :D

I booked this when the tickets first went on sale as a fathers day present for my 80 year old dad & my mum and me, and have been looking forward to it....and then my work go and screw me up by booking a compulsory company event same day so by the time it finishes i wont annoyingly get down to Southend in time for it!

From a selfish point of view, im a little bit annoyed at everyone in my company about not being able to go, but I know both my parents will love it so thats the main thing!

Enjoy all!

Been to a few of these too. Last one was the boys of 86 with Frankie Mac, TC & Parkes.

Good fun. Tony Gale is a fantastic compère.

1980 Squad, Cliffs Pavilion, 11/10

Postby Doc H Ball on Sat Oct 06, 2018 1:25 pm

I'm very much looking forward to this next week.

How great that everyone in the FA Cup winning squad is due to be there

I know there's quite a few on here going and it would be nice to post up some photos and thoughts afterwards.

Does anyone stream these events? Would be nice if someone like KUMB could.

Rio

Oi

Me and doc ball have got another year before we can officially retire

Whether we act like we are already retired you’ll have to speak to our respective missus 8-)

The kumb contingent should all wear name badges with their user names so we can identify each other

That’s actually not such a silly idea

I’m a short chubby fella. Shaved head. Narrows it down by 3% of the audience.

And I’m 46. So i’ll be the youngest by a good distance!!

I’m going and taking my stepson so he learns a bit of history.

I went to the Trevor Brooking, Billy Bonds and Alan Devonshire one a while ago and that was great. Tony Gale was the compère and was hilarious. I think he’s doing this one too.
