Re: Jan Transfer Window 18/19
forget nasri or payet 31/32 we need younger faster players.
we do need a big unut who can get about the pitch in the middle as our midfield enforcer. we have nothing in the middle to scare anyone or fight it out physically.
so wilshere and carroll may be back before xmas. no doubt injured pretty soon as well.
lanzini we wont see until march I reckon.
another season wasted.
If we cant perform and beat a Huddersfield team then we wont do much this season. 12th place I reckon.
hopefully wrong.
in the summer we need to clear the deadwood and dross that we have in the squad:
ogbonna cresswell byran antonio perez hernandez sanchez carroll hughill cullen
need a few in to replace them.Apart from new signings I would add the following to the squad
silva, fernandez, browne, holland
maybe 19/20 we will see a decent and consistent west ham who could finish top 8.

Cheers bud, you just know he’s going to leave end up in prem and then be injury free for the rest of his career, it’s the West Ham wayCuenca 'ammer wrote:Ozza
no mate, Carroll.....
according to *x&x" we need to exercise a 2 year option on the same money....
another 2 years @ 85K plus plus for someone who hasn't even kicked a ball THIS YEAR let alone the time in general he's missed...

The Sun has us linked with Domenic Solanke. He was a real talent but hasn’t had any chance at Liverpool.
I’d take him in a second if there was a permanent purchase option, especially as I don’t think he’d cost much.

He's been **** at Liverpool and if he can't score goals in that team, what chance with us?

Another window, another tonne of links to attacking players (of questionable improvement to the first team)
Centre midfield and full back please

Re: Jan Transfer Window 18/19
Left back is our biggest need and also one of the hardest positions to find an upgrade. I think a Phillip Max at Augsburg or Plattenhardt at Hertha Berlin are the best left backs at teams who may sell.
Sari just said Barkley is well ahead of Loftus-Cheek so the latter may be available on loan which would help our midfield a lot, and would be a stop gap until we can sign Billing if Huddersfield go down.
We can still use a top class Striker along with Arnie. Maxi Gomez at Celta Vigo has 6 goals and 4 assists in 9 matches this season. He will be the next Cavani. It would take a big fee to get him, maybe even more than Anderson’s but he is 22 and if he comes close to fulfilling his potential will be worth double in a couple of years.
It seems like there is potential that we sell Chicharito and Antonio January as Palace are apparently interested in Antonio again, and Hugill as he has finally started to impress at Boro. Those 3would probably cover 50% or more of the transfer fee for Gomez, and the difference in wages would cover the rest.

I agree we need to get rid of the deadwood but I'm hoping that Pellegrini already has plans to replace a fair number in our squad in the Jan window. We need to offer Rice a much improved contract and need to stop wasting money on players taking big salaries without offering much in return. I would offload Ogbonna, Obiang, AC, Cresswell, Antonio, Chico, Sanchez, Byram, Perez , Hugill , Wlishere, Masuaku, Noble.
Hold on! That's most of our squad isn't it .

Re: Jan Transfer Window 18/19
There is another option being mooted, namely instead of exercising the option above we let it expire and offer him a new one at around half the money.Cuenca 'ammer wrote:Ozza

Not for me, he will get injured and he will hoover up wages which could be better spent elsewhere.

Re: Jan Transfer Window 18/19
trouble is, he'll want a signing on fee etc. etc. and he hasn't played one minute this season and it's November..he "might" be fit for the City game, but..............
if we should learn anything from AC's history, we won't offer him ANY type of contract...
let him and us move on.....I can't say thanks for the service because although he DID score some important goals, at what cost, both in terms of salary and the type of game he wanted us to play. we only have Snodders who can cross a ball now and to be honest that's going to be easily cut out.
nah, let it all go..get some money in Jan (which I think has no chance) we have evolved some since then. he could only come on as a limited sub in limited situations against limited teams.

Although I’d like a few changes in Jan, I can’t see it happening.
Bertrand, Clyne & RLC in the summer.

Re: Jan Transfer Window 18/19
The league table since we switched to a slightly more defensive midfield;
I'd be surprised if we are looking at anything beyond:
1) A loan/free to cover the absence of Lanzini/Yarmolenko
2) A defensive loan to cover Reid/Sanchez
I'd be surprised to see us do anything in either full back position and we will only move for new players if some of the out of favour high-earners depart or the on-loan players suddenly get sold.
