When Moyes made a rather silly comment that was blown out of all proportion, the BBC was at the forefront of the virtue signalers and professional offence takers. Moyes was trying to be jocular but should have realised that a sense of humour is no longer PC. Roan's remarks despite his insincere apology was offensive and he should face the music. The BBC will do nothing. I am glad I do not have a TV licence.

That's what I can't stand about the BBC and how it has become now.

Dan Roan was trending on Twitter, so it was obviously news and people were interested, not a peep from the BBC though as it doesn't suit their agenda or interests.

It's not an apology - he's sorry he's been over heard.

It's not an apology, he's trying to justify his actions. That's how low the BBC has sunk, that they'd rather defend someone like this.

The more I think about this, the more astonished I am by it. Richard Keys & Andy Gray were sacked for 'off-air' comments by Sky Sports, yet the BBC appear to be filing this firmly in the 'no case to answer' folder.

Are we seriously saying that Sky Sports hold themselves to higher journalistic standards & morals than the BBC? That's a mix of scary & depressing.

Why do people expect the BBC to do anything? This organisation are virtually untouchable, they set their own agenda, make their own news and use public funds to shape it all.

In a nutshell, Dan Roan can do and say whatever he likes, and the arrogant **** knows it full well.

As perhaps many of us have said as parents.......... "you're not sorry you did it, you're sorry you've been found out"

They'll wait until they realise it won't blow over and more profile people pick up the baton, this doesn't look like it's going to go away (thankfully)

Honestly, the World we live in is crumbling isn't it. The age of worthless information, so what if its his mistress, the story here is the tragic accident that took place. I hope he never works in journalism again.

The guy's a ****, and an insensitive one at that.

Although I've never understood people who demand others get fired for comments such as this. By all accounts what he was saying was probably true and all he's done is show his lack of empathy/respect which makes him a bit of a **** really. If we fired all the ***** in this country the unemployment rate would be at a record high and last time I checked, genuine empathy is not really a requirement for the job of a journo so basically people should stop being offended by everything and lay off the social media lynchings...
