H+J are still good, although Paul Hawksbee carries it really; Andy Jacobs can come across as a bit of a nasty piece of work on occasion (spesh when Hawksbee isn't there), but is generally a good Ernie to Hawksbee's Eric.

Danny Kelly I like, the Euro football show is good - he does have an annoying habit of talking over people though. But a nice guy and a good host all told.

Bob Mills - one more reason to hate Millwall I suppose. Never forgiven him for taking the piss out of Alvin Martin on some show years back about the 86 World Cup. About as funny as war.

Mike Parry and Saggers, both humourless, pompous and seem to conflate plain rudeness with being 'refreshingly direct' (the twatometer always starts humming into life when someone is described as being 'refreshingly direct'.

Alan Brazil - horrible bloke; can't forgive him for his comments on mental illness a while back. Tried to put it down to his perpetual drunkenness but rather fear it more likely to be drunken sincerity.

Durham is Alan Partridge, the only difference being that whereas Alan hated anything to do with London, Durham's grotesquely affected attempt at a pseudo-Cockney 'geezer' accent suggests a man who never really forgave his parents for not birthing him next to a whelk stall in Poplar.

Andy Goldstein - Essex Man U fan in every worst respect. Cundy reprehensibly odious.

And of course Jim White. Only the starch in his shirt keeping him upright. Utterly ammoral.

Just hope they don't encroach any further into TMS's hitherto hegemony on the cricket commentary, the thought of TMS being usurped will finish me off i reckon.

Other than that, obviously a fantastic station...

Bob Mills is actually Leyton Orient rather than Millwall - but is still unamusing nonetheless. I’ve no idea how he makes a living as a stand up comic....perhaps he doesn’t.

I know full well I’m in the minority. This is not a popular opinion.

I actually look forward Drive with Durham on the way home. I think he’s knowledgeable and it’s obvious he has to stick by certain things to get people to call in.

Is it wrong to add that, for some reason, I even like the sound of his voice.

I’ll call my doctor in the morning.

Where it turns to drivel is with the ex pros and the latest trend for sports journos.
None of them add any insight to the shows or say anything other than cliches. You might just as well have some supporters on there as they would speak more sense.

The best non pro presenter on there by a country mile is Simon Jordan. Not an ex sportsman with mates to look after and articulates his opinions very well.

Spot on about Kelly & Jordan there.

Ray Parlour comes to mind for the ex pro bit, sure he’s a lovely fella, but cliches galore is all he spouts...

TS can’t just be dismissed though - they cover more live footballl than 5live and are making inroads into test Match cricket. Their live reporting on a Saturday afternoon is also excellent.

It can. Very easily.

Agree with the original post: Brazil, H and J, and the fantastic Porky are very good - the rest are dullards, pricks, arse-lickers and bores

H & J and that's about it basically. Hawksbee is a funny **** and they have good guests.

Not convinced by Rushden and Glendenning. Bit 'knowing' and slightly pretentious for me.

The whole Alan Brazil 'lifestyle' thing is getting old now with his hangers-on/sycophants (McCoist, Parlour etc) wrapped round him.

Danny Kelly knows his football and music but talks too much.

Can't listen to Durham and Gough. Awful. Likewise Jason ****y.

Best pundit by far is Cascarino. Actually has an opinion on things but is never rude about it. Good bloke.

Basically incoherent ramblings but can be very funny. Culverhouse in particular is excellent.

Agreed. They also do the Football Weekly podcast regularly which is very good.

Dislike Alan Brazil and Jim White but the rest of them are ok. I only tend to listen to TalkSport on the way to/from our games anyway.

He made a comment a few months back when Ginola had returned after his heart attack. Ginola was basically saying that Brazil really should go and get a health check, as it could happen at anytime. Brazil went a long with it for so long before saying "shall we go to the pub after then" and burst out laughing. You could tell Ginola wasn't impressed.

Also had him and McCoist laughing about the "Two Andy Goram's" story the other week, both couldn't understand why they received texts and calls labelling them idiots.

I do think a lot of Brazil's nature comes from his childhood though, went through a horrific ordeal, so I imagine he turns to the booze to forget a lot of it.

It's only a matter of time before Brazil drops dead, I'm surprised he's still going to be honest.

Honorable mention for Andy 'smug ****' Goldstein, what an irritating ****hole he is.

It’s like the radio version of the Sun newspaper.

Doesn’t deal in facts, and sensationalises everything. Its turned into Armchair Fan FM.

Durham is a champagne socialist brass. He’s inflammatory, contradictory, hypocritical and arrogant. Knows the square sum of **** all and what he does is effectively a form of trolling and baiting. Loved Goughie as cricketer but he’s stealing a living on there, passing judgement on football for which he also knows **** all about.

H and J are good though its Hawksbee who holds it together. Danny Kelly is the stand out and Two mikes is ok.

Georgie Bingham is another one who literally knows **** all and spouts inaccurate ****. It’s difficult listening to her … she really doesn’t know a lot. Jim White is a media brass, heavily influenced and bias. Ray Parlour just comes across as thick. Alan Brazil represents that old football boys network and doesn’t know

Listening to the atrocious ‘Big Sam’ on there is insufferable. No different to when he was a manager, arrogant, boring, hypocritical and full of ****.

Simon Jordan is well worth a listen whilst Jason Cundy is just a thick, biased moron who is also influenced and not very bright.

I infrequently lock into it, albeit for a few minutes here and there. If there is a big sports story then I might tune in for longer. Its amazing that so many bumbling, stumbling divs can actually yield a living from a national radio station, worrying that they get to convey their views to the masses.

Oh and the cricket coverage is ****.

Can't help but like Stuart Pearce. Down to earth and seems like a good skin.

I'd rather listen to him talking about the gigs he goes to than football though to be fair....

The station took a massive hit when it lost Colin Murray. Like him or not, he is a razor sharp presenter. Replacing him with Jim White was like when Rangers got demoted 4 divisions in one hit.

Personally like Bob Mills a lot.

Jason Cundy is Talksports answer to David Mellor on 5 live way back. No brain, no idea, no charisma, no nothing. Does he pay them to get a gig on there?

Allardyce and the Moose at it this morning.
The Moose mentioned Allardyce cupping his ear to crowd at the Hull City home game and fat Sam went into one.
Knees Up Mother Brown also got a mention.
The whole thing was pretty embarrassing.
Allardyce ended up calling moose a balloon.
The irony.
