Allardyce isn't a fan of KUMB

gravy chops actually mentions KUMB by name, blaming us for "getting the ball rolling" when moaning about fan discontent at having to watch the **** football in another saggy faced rant against "the west ham way".

"been playing the west ham way much recently have you?" well, as it happens...

He mentioned KUMB in an open forum in Dubai too... said he wanted to speak freely but had to hold some bits back otherwise it would end up all over KUMB...

I guess this post proves him right...??

Funny how he has taken such offence to the 'West Ham Way' comments. Truth hurts I guess.
Sam did a fantastic job of stabilising us, but it was terrible to watch at times. Other managers since have had a blend of stability with entertaining football mixed in.

And to answer his question, I'd say yes, we are playing the West Ham way now. We knock it about, we try and win games and we have some academy prospects coming through.

He does a job, without doubt. I bet he'd go and get a tune out of Huddersfield (who actually try and play as it stands, but get picked off and beaten week in week out).

No such thing as bad publicity.

Sam, that's why we wanted you out...

It was pretty full on here at the time, some of stuff was pretty black...

Anyway good advertising for the boss if he's mentioning the site

I heard him quickly on TS this morning comparing the ear cupping with Jose yesterday I was shouting at the radio that he was doing it to his own fans... then I remembered the cricket was on

The first time I heard the phrase.'the west ham way' it was from BFS. You can talk about tradition or identity but if never heard that before. All in all he's talking bollox with a massive chip on his shoulder. Did well for us in general though.

This West Ham way b*llocks is some kind of perception from the media. West Ham fans just want to be entertained if anything because we win **** all. Allardyce has a complex about Entertainment because he works in football and has to achieve results, of which was a mixed bag in his time really. He had the audacity to say he plays winning football which sounds just as ridiculous as this made up term of the "West Ham way"

we had an identity and a way of playing under Greenwood and Lyall that was coined the "West Ham way" it was a long time ago...

He was right in some respect, however mouthing it off and disengaging the fan base with his comments, was a bad move that he seems to repeat at every club he's at (most recently Everton)

Seen as though you have brought the term up so publicly again... and in an attempt to belittle our fan base... again... well, yes... we have actually Sam.

Expansive, attacking football based on knocking the ball around, getting down the wings and giving it a go in games as well as not being afraid to give the academy prospects their shot.

Sure we have slipped up a few times and that has cost us points but it certainly beats a team of journeymen trying to grind out a 0-0 and we are no worse off in terms of a league position either.

Easy to understand why he is so defensive over this issue.

Que us losing 1-0 tomorrow and the TalkSport 'old boys club' being all over this mocking us and defending their old mate...

They have to do all they can to generate clicks and calls I guess.

Think this proves no matter, what managers and players say stuff on here, in the media etc must get to them deep down and underneath as much as they don't want to admit it.

Speaking as one who, for four long years, had to attend his post-match press conferences in which he would spout statistics from his laptop that "proved" that the 1-0 defeat or 0-0 draw that I had just seen was in fact a chance-filled exhibition of football on a par with the 1970 World Cup Final; I (as presumably one of the "mischievous few") would like to remind Mr Allardyce of an old Kumb proverb:

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than it is to speak and remove all doubt.

He never once tried to "get" West Ham, and still doesn't. Immeasurably more entertainment in our recent Brighton defeat than when, in the Championship, we rocked up at their place and stole a 1-0 win.

Beer shelves, carpets, wifi pah. The deluded members of one site it seems dragged the board around to the West Ham way :D
