that's what Big Sam used to do.....away to Chelsea once over Christmas.....think he might have even said something like we have no chance...

in all fairness when they have 50M quid players ON THE BENCH it does make life a bit difficult for others....

We tend to turn up against the bigger teams but this will be the 2nd biggest test of the season (after the reverse fixture). I think we can nick a point but it'll require everyone to be on it and some luck.
The problem of course is that if they turn up, as in really turn up, there isn't much we can do.

My cousin, Watford St holder, said at the Watford 0-6 Man city a couple of seasons ago, that Watford didn't even play badly

Heart says WHU 1-1 Superstars
Head says WHU 0-5 Superstars

Yes that's one of the reasons I disliked BFS. That habit of his of basically 'throwing' games.
It's dishonest and its cheating the paying public.
You have to go into every game at least trying. If you don't do that you may as well give up.

We will give it a go and lose 3-1 I reckon.

You sit back against them and you usually lose comfortably. You attack them and you usually lose comfortably.
Let’s get at them and see what happens.

As long as they have a go I think most of us would be fairly happy.

Can't argue with that, Bob.
Funny ain't it, we've gone from most of us thinking that we'd beat Huddersfield to most of us thinking that we're going to lose against Man City..C'est la West Ham vie..

Ideal for us that this comes straight after the international break. Predicting a straight forward 3-1 win.

Just want us to have a real go at them and be up for it .Get in their faces a bit
Stones can be roughed up by Arnie
Mendy can be got at
Fernaninho will get booked

That's about it for our chances . Expecting a 3 goal defeat but you never know

Just turn up west ham !

Here's are record since City 1st won the PL!

Played: 15 (12 league, 2 League cup, 1 FA Cup)
W: 2
D: 2
L: 11
Scored: 11
Conceded: 40

So I'm going for a 2-1 win! :scarfer:

I can see us making it hard for them and we will clearly need to ride out luck a bit if we are going to get anything from the game.

But you just never know. Wolves nicked a point at home to them thanks to a lot of hard work and quite a bit of luck. I feel like playing them on the back of an international break is as good a time as any as Pep has them so well drilled when they are under his nose.

Masuaku has a fair chance of taking Cresswell's place although I think I'd personally stick with Cresswell.
Noble comes straight back in for me making it a tough call between Snodgrass and Diangana for the wide right position. I think I'd start with Snodgrass due and get as much experience on the pitch as I could to start.

Would drop Antonio and Perez from the squad if Wilshere and Carroll are fit enough for the bench.

----------------- Fabianski --------------
Zabaleta Balbuena Diop Cresswell
-------------- Rice Obiang --------------
Snodgrass ---- Noble ---- Anderson
---------------- Arnautovic ---------------

Adrian, Ogbonna, Masuaku, Wilshere, Diangana, Carroll, Hernandez

Guess who was the Manchester City Manager when we beat them in those two games . :)

Funny how certain games are still fresh in the memory , I'm guessing it's because beating Manchester City of late has been almost impossible .

Amalfitano , Sakho , Moses , Sakho - both 2-1 victories .

I've gone for 2-1 also .

Games against City at home -
Upton park
12/13: 0-0
13/14: 1-3
14/15: 2-1
15/16: 2-2

1W 2D 1L 5GS 6GC

Rented bowl
16/17: 0-5 (fa cup)
16/17: 0-4
17/18: 1-4

0W 0D 3L 1GS 9GC

Said it before and ill say it again its near on impossible for us not to get battered against these boys at home nowadays, playing on such a big open field allows their vastly superior technical players like Silva, Bernardo, KDB, Mahrez etc to have an extra 2/3 yards on the ball which makes a massive difference. At upton park id give us a small chance of nicking a draw, but im afraid its an inevitable 4/5 goal defeat at the soulless bowl

The only way to play them is to go at them. Let them have the ball and they will tear you apart all game.

Cheers, I missed that, actually though he had been booked 6 times and had already sat one out.

A reprieve for Antonio then it seems. He makes the bench with Grady starting. Noble in for Snodgrass would be the only change I'd make to the XI.

I like your thinking! Or picking up injuries in the break. Yes, it's come to that..
Every time I've seen City highlights this season they just look like they're having a 'mess about' between themselves, on a beach.
If only, as usual, we didn't have so many f**king injuries. Third season running, at least, I believe.
Strange really, what with our no expense spared*, state of the art, training facilities.
Well, I suppose you've got to expect that when you buy a new stadium..oh, wait a minute..
