80k a week .... for an ageing druggy who's played less than 40 league games in three years ... and we're haggling over an extra 25k a week for Declan? ..... WTF is wrong with this club ..

For me, that's the main issue. How will that make Rice feel, seeing Nasri come in on a ridiculous contract. So poorly run.

Dec should just run his contract down and leave. This is a massive kick in the nuts to him imo. How can a club give someone who's been banned for 18 months, was already way past his best and will take most of the next 6 months to even get match fit, £80k a week while Dec is sitting there on £5k a week performing every week. This club is a shambles.

I just don't want him, he is a bit of a prat, good footballer yeah four years ago but just seems a dislikeable character to have in the changing room and he doesn't seem to have much heart in his actual game

Only and only positive point is Pell has worked with him before and maybe can get something out of him

Some of the reactions on here of us signing a player as a short term option....

Seriously over the top in my opinion. It's not like we're talking about signing Fred West.

Like any player in c&b, he'll get my support

he's a player who pell knows well, that's obviously the attraction. Sterile water containing nutrients? what sort of drug is that? Seems a really weird thing to get yourself banned over. He's got 6 weeks to get fit so might be a useful signing because he understands Pells system (which some present players obviously don't)

Well I guess he is not 32 yet....

But as our illustrious gobshite owner said

“Maybe going forward we won’t. We have to take a look at the age of the players we’re signing. We will have to bring in two or three in January. They won’t be old journeymen, they will be young players. They won’t be 32.”

Nasri is an attacking midfielder / winger with bags of Premier League experience and two winners medals... I'd imagine he is cover for the likes of Lanzini and Wilshere as they look to regain fitness.

Declan is set to sign a new contract and is very happy with it / us.

We have a youth player who is getting a pittance in footballing terms, it's pretty much widespread knowledge. He should be the priority.

In fact we are spending a shed load of the wage budget on a player who hasn't played in over a year? How long will it take for him to get match fit? 3-4 months?

I can only assume this means Lanzini is out for longer than first thought.

Well there's a curveball....

Not played for 18 months, at a guess going to take 3 months to get match sharp/fit?? Strange decision for me.
