We were better than them in general play, they were just more clinical in front of goal with their chances where we failed miserably. Fine margins but it happens.
One thing I've often noticed about us as a Team which was perfectly illustrated on the weekend, is we do have a frustrating tendency to try and pass the ball in the goal, rather than take more shots around the edge of the box when in very good shooting opportunities. The problem with constantly tapping it around the box, is the opposition are able to flood the box which makes it extremely difficult to score. That's why I liked it when Hernandez came on and instantly tried his luck so he at least worked the Keeper asking the question, rather than ask no questions of him at all.
So yeah, decent build up play but for f*** sake, when there's a decent sighter, have a pop hitting the target working their Keeper. We are becoming too predictable constantly tapping it about doing little once in sight of goal.

I think my Ecuadorian neighbours think I am calling my friends in America every Saturday/Sunday morning as all they can here from my apartment is:
Shoot Shoot..why not shoot !!!!!!!!!
and that the rest of my friends are called f**k f**k and f**k
luckily it's not like the states where all the apartments in Texas are made of wood. these walls are probably 18 inches solid concrete as indeed are the floors and of course ceilings.

I used to live over with a friend (platonic) and she asked me once:
Why is it a man thing to talk to and shout at the telly when watching sporting events ? it doesn't help at all - they can't hear you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
she has a point !!!!!!!!!!!

This is so true. I remember the kids cringeing at me swearing at the ref and the ref giving me a dirty look! And Ginge laughing at something I shouted, I miss the back row of the Chicken Run. I certainly saw a few visiting players get a push and a shove when they went to take throw-ins in front of the old wooden chicken run.Cuenca 'ammer wrote:I used to go there when it was still wooden........

In Ecuador, I should think your neighbours would be alarmed if you were to shout out " No, don't shoot, please don't shoot" !

actually Puff
one of the most moderate of the South American countries luckily enough.
that's why there's loads of ex pats here. that and the weather is great 12 months of the year. and the fact that for "us" Americans the currency is the US dollar. and it's cheap as chips.
now if only I could improve my Spanish.
