Bournemouth will come steaming out of the blocks. They always do, so we will have to be on our guard and wear them down and then take the game to them. 3-1 Irons

I know where you're coming from.goingunderground wrote:Anyone dislike Howe? Can’t stand the bloke. He could be your best man and he’d definitely finger your missus at your wedding.
Eddie Howe is very smart at coming across as a very polite friendly bloke and cultivates the 'little old Bournemouth' image to his/their advantage very well. Look beyond that and you see a snide team that is capable of mixing it in the snide fouls/gamesmanship/diving department with the very best of them.

Re: ⚽ AFC Bournemouth v West Ham United: Match Thread
7 Prem matches against this lot:
3 defeats (2 at home)
2 draws
2 victories (both in 2016, but straddled across Bilic's 1st and 2nd seasons)
This season, despite playing a game less than us, so far, they have conceded 40 goals, which is worse than two of the teams presently in the bottom three. In recent games, they've taken 4 from 15 available and their season is now all about the boredom of league survival, having been knocked out by Brighton in last week's 3rd round.
I rather expect that the coaching staff will be working towards a further 3 points next weekend. A defence that can shackle Arsenal's front line can go again away at Bournemouth.
Declan is better than any possible counterpart in their side and, after yesterday especially, the intuition and close control between Anderson, Nasri, Noble etc, will allow us to get and keep the ball in the other team's half. That's what comes from repeated 5-aside sessions, maybe?
Can't imagine two consecutive clean sheets, but this is a point or three expedition, before some of the older warriors can have a week on bench, or off altogether, when we visit another AFC in SW London.

And, they'll still be going for a goal, in the 96th minute..so watch out.Puff Daddy wrote:Bournemouth will come steaming out of the blocks. They always do, so we will have to be on our guard and wear them down and then take the game to them. 3-1 Irons

Small club mentality mate! Obviously over the moon at beating Arsenal but we can definitely finish 7th this season. Must be looking to beat this mob. Despite that, we haven't had the best of luck down there (Cough Cough Callum Wilson and Bobby Madley the pair of mugs) but there's no reason we can't beat them.Stepney wrote:I actually don't care if we lose this game 5-0. Re: ⚽ AFC Bournemouth v West Ham United: Match Thread
They're on a dismal run of results, so it would be typical West Ham to lose to them. With Nasri in the team I don't think Pelle will do anything silly like playing 4-4-2.
4-2-3-1: Fabianski; Zabaleta, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Noble, Rice; Antonio, Nasri, Anderson; Arnautovic.
Subs: Adrian, Balbuena, Masuaku, Obiang, Diangana, Carroll, Perez.
Obviously, some doubts about whether Arnie and Obiang will be around, so might revise my line up later this week.

Try and out muscle them.
Play big andy from the start, snoddy, obiang.
Not sure of playing the likes of hernandez & nasri will cut it.
Just that type of team who will muscle them off the ball.

Don’t think so. That isn’t really Bournemouth’s style. They are mostly a passing team that relies on pace and good crossing.kitthehammer wrote:Try and out muscle them.

Personally I’d start the same team that played against Arsenal.

Fabianski
Zabaleta Diop Ogbonna Cresswell
Noble Rice
Snodgrass Nasri Anderson
Antonio
Can't see Arnie starting with his impending move.
The lack of athleticism (apart from Diop) at the back still worries me, especially against this lot who bomb on down the wings.

I can't see Pellers starting Arnie either...
what's the bet he has a stomach "pull" this week..he's not going to want to get injured ahead of his move, we're not wanting to get him hurt ahead of his move, and his "attitude" didn't look great for me on Saturday.
it's going to be a battle and we need battlers out there - I remember when Parker was up for a move, he pulled out of tackles and wasn't as effective.
play a false 9 or stick Antonio up front and bring back Snoddy....

Re: ⚽ AFC Bournemouth v West Ham United: Match Thread
As we are finding a little more rhythm and off a back of a great win I am confident we will turn up properly and play well...
As for Bournemouth, which one will be turning up!?!? Even the games they have lost in their bad run they seem to be in all the games from the highlights (bar one or two).
Have no idea on result as it's us, but will be disappointed if we do not come away with a point, hopefully all 3
As for team, same as last game, bar maybe Arnie depending on if he is here or his head is in a gangsters vice...

For me Howe fits into that smug, snide and fundamentally dishonest style so beloved at Swansea before their fall: Rogers, Monk, Laudrup. And especially Martinez.
Hope we demolish them.
