West Ham Utd 3-1 Fulham (22/02/19)

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Fulham: match thread (22/2)
On current form I'd have Antonio as one of the first names on the teamsheet. Changes from the last game just balbuena in for ogbonna and arnautovic in for Hernandez, with Hernandez subbed on later for one of the centre midfield three if we can't break them down. I'd be amazed if Lanzini is ready to start after all that time out.
Have a feeling mitrovic will nick a goal but we should be getting a 2-1 or 3-1 win.

We're off for warm weather training this week, aren't we?
Fulham win 0-2, Mitro absolutely bullying us.
We never win after a week of warm weather training.

There's an argument to be made that it's Diop who should be replaced by Balbuena rather than Ogbonna.
Partially form-based – Ogbonna has been better than him the last few weeks – but mostly just to give him a spell after playing so many games this season.

The way you know Ogbonna is in decent form is the opposite of most players, and more akin to a referee – it's when you don't notice him much that he's usually playing ok. And he's basically been invisible the last two games.

Not true.I think under Moyes and under Bilic we had a decent run of results after going away for warm weather training.YorksHammer wrote:We're off for warm weather training this week, aren't we?

We beat Southampton 3-0 on the back of the Miami trip last season... followed it up with a very credible point at Chelsea too.YorksHammer wrote: We never win after a week of warm weather training.
The trip to Dubai under Bilic in 16/17 season wasn't so effective. Drew at Watford upon returning and went on a five game losing run leaving us needing a vital and nervy 1-0 home win over Swansea to keep us safe.
The science exists to justify warm weather training. That is good enough for me.

Not sure what that argument is.mushy wrote: There is an argument to be made that we should keep it as it is.
We were terrible at the back against Palace. Zabaleta and Balbuena should both come back in if fit. The only reason I'd say otherwise is if we are trying to give Fredericks as many minutes as we can to build his Premier League experience up without us really having anything on the line as such.

We are so unpredictable it's unreal, even more so than normal. It's all about attitude for me. Turn up in a Wimbledon state of mind and we lose. Turn up with the Liverpool attitude and we should be looking to put a relegation nail in their coffin and beat them 4-0. I think it will be somewhere in between though. 2-1.

Absolutely spot on. If we have a fully fit Balbuena, Nasri and Arnautovic, all in the right frame of mind, we should be solid enough to keep a clean sheet and creative enough to absolutely rip that Fulham defence apart.Cockneyboy311 wrote:We are so unpredictable it's unreal, even more so than normal. Fulham are getting to that stage where they have to go on a winning run in order to stay up & it usually starts around this stage.
We did it in 2006. Leicester did it in 2015... starting against us. Fulham themselves, West Brom & others have completed unlikely great escapes, starting at a not too dissimilar time.
If there ever was a team to start a winning run against....

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Fulham: match thread (22/2)
Available doesn't mean starting, I'd be surprised to see any of the longer term injuries like Balbuena or Lanzini going straight into the first XI. Pellegrini has been pretty consistent in working injured players back slowly with a sub appearance or two. Nasri might be an exception given our needs in midfield and his injury being shorter term.
Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Fulham: match thread (22/2)
I think he will try and win this in the first half so that he can ease players back in for the second 45.
I suspect Pellers will start 4-4-2 with Arnautovic coming in for Snodgrass. We know he likes that formation and to be honest we should be capable of putting 3-4 past them if we are it from minute 1.

I would expect Nasri to start and Lanzini to replace him when he needs to come off.
