Strange, nothing mentioned on the official site, yet mentioned on ESPN and on Ritzing’s own website.

This might throw a spanner in the works for my planned summer holiday. I’ve got to be in Holland on the Sunday and back the following Friday. The plan was to drive up to Sweden and back between then. I might have to talk the Mrs in to a trip to Vienna and Bratislava instead!

Since West Ham is in Bad Waltersdorf and Hertha is in Stegersbach on training camp it totally makes sense.

unless it's "a west ham X1" ie squad members not on pre season tour or kids. Seems a bit far to go being as it's usually staines town or something.

Seems official now... https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/201 ... in-austria" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The Mrs was quite happy with my holiday proposal earlier today, so I’ll bag some tickets after double checking when she gets home.

Hertha Berlin have some brilliantly passionate fans. Their stadium makes a cracking noise on matchday.

Should be a good one.

I'll be there and a few Austrian West Ham supporters coming as well. If anyone is staying in Vienna I can reckommend going to a Pub called the Tube Station. It is a pub owned by a mate from Essex who used to go to the Chicken Run and therfore the pub is West Ham themed.

Guten morgen, AUT_Hammer: is there a website for the pub or do you have some images you can post?

Would also be good to speak to the owner if that's possible?

I am the owner of The Tube Station and the bar is the official headquarters of the Austrian Irons for WHU games when we are on the box.
My name's Barry and i had the pleasure of welcoming a cracking group of Hammers the last time we played a friendly in Vienna (2012- Austria Wien) albeit that was when i ran a different bar nearby.

I’ll come and have a pint Lakeside. Probably not on match day though, we’re going for lunch in Hungary on our way to the match.

Sounds good Derby; i'd imagine there will be a few people around on Tuesday evening.
Look forward to meeting you, and naturally anybody else who happens to be in Vienna.

Small world, I only live round the corner from there! I'll have to check it out on Tuesday evening.

Does anyone have any tips for getting from Wien to Sonnenseestadion by public transport? Google is telling me it's 3 hours :eh:

I think you could make it in two hours.
I normally check http://www.oebb.at directly.

Nonetheless, Ritzing is a really small village so quiet bad connected. By car you can make it in 1 hour I think.
