Can we have a poll on the Ground Share?

Post by Claretdave »

On the off chance the site's opinion has any influence, can we have the following:

Would you want to see S***s sharing Upton Park with West Ham for two seasons?

Would the answer be any different if:

a) We make a huge profit on the deal, i.e. £20m per season;

b) The West Ham/S***s matches are both "home" games for West Ham?

I think I know the answer - it is whether a resounding NO is of any value in the owner's thinking. Another form of online petition. I think it is worth discussing the "what ifs" as well.

A very big NO from me, in truth I don't think the spurts fans want this either.

Won't matter a toss what we think - if the club can make a few million out of it, our owners will be only to keen to take it.

What does it matter? They'll be using it when we aren't and the money will help us keep up with them financially. We did it with Charlton and most on here believe Millwall are our only truly hated enemy. I don't like Spurs but why not take their money. My only slight concern would perhaps be the pitch but nowadays groundsmen and the new technology can probably keep up.

I'd quite enjoy taking a ton of cash off them. I was dead set against this at the start but I've mellowed.
I'll concede though that being in Canada takes the edge off it a bit.
The 'Away' match is the worst bit.

Anyone that isn't a regular attendee at Upton Park, should keep their noses out of it.

£20M/season let pass the hat round for old BG & Co

Are you saying that West Ham supporters that cant make the games every week have no say in the matter and as such have no say in any matters concerning West Ham??? Come on please, what an absured suggestion to make!!! I for one would like to see the extra income, £10 Million a season would cover the players wages or go towards some top quality signings, after all the Guudies are not that rich in todays football world, they havn't got a bottomless pit of money. Football clubs pay out huge sums of money every year in Wages, Taxes, Dividends, Ground Maintainence etc etc, the figures can be mind boggling. These clubs have to make money through TV Revenue, Prize Money, Ticket Sales, Merchandicing etc etc and this can really struggle to cover the outlay these clubs have to make. This is why £20 Million over 2 years is a huge sum of money for us to turn down and a reason why we need to move to a new ground!!

Even if WHU offered a bottle of bleach and a cleaner at every game so I can wipe the traces of any spud who has sat in my seat....and the answer would still be NO

Maybe...if the money paid by the spuds were used to lower the ticket prices for West Ham fans.

 As if that`s ever gonna happen.

Why not?

As long as the pitch holds up and the club earns money from it, then I see no reason not to. Fleece the c**** for every penny. Headbanger
