jumps to advert at bottom of page

Postby sussexhammer74 on Sat Jan 14, 2017 2:47 pm

As the title says. I look at a thread. I start reading it and then it jumps to the two ads (one a video ad) at the bottom of the page. Go to scroll up (using mouse wheel or scroll bar at side of web page) and immediately goes back to the ads.

Really annoying the tits off of me. Dont want to use ad blocker on kumb but ffs this is testing my patience.

Bloody doing it as I type......

I'm having the same problem on Chrome. It does not happen when I use Edge browser. Not tried IE or other browsers so although it is a PITA having to switch browsers just to view kumb it is a solution

Happened to me on Chrome.
Just need a decent add blocker.
From drop down menu Top Right > more tools >extensions> get more extensions.
Search for an adblocker and install.
I use Fair Adblocker, only because it had the highest rating.
Seems to work fine.

I was just thinking that!!

Personally I don't mind ads, but I won't have ads that grab focus, start playing sound, put themselves over what I'm trying to look at. etc.

This morning I am confronted with an ad that has taken over the whole screen and makes the Home page unreadable. I can't even find an X to close it down. This forum has to be the worst website I use for intrusive adverts and it is getting worse. I have pop-ups blocked within Edge so what's going on. It must be a security weakness within the code. Please sort it out guys

Fix The Adverts

Seriously. Sort the ****ing adverts out.

It's the videos at the bottom of the page. Just remove them.

What browser do you use mate?

I use Chrome on my PC/Laptop and don't have any issues with them at all.

I can't download on this either.

It's a real pain in the backside but I still don't get adds doing anything at all on here.

I am using Chrome on an android mobile. 90% of the time the adverts don't bother me but over the weekend, and a few weeks ago, the page would automatically 'scroll' to the bottom of the page.

Exactly the problem I had. It became so unusable that I installed an ad-blocker, I didn't want to do it as I know the site makes money from ads but I found it impossible to read threads without.

I'm with you fj. The latest one for Marriott hotels. Basically hijacks the main page and no matter what you click on, it just goes straight to their website.

I know you have to pay the rent boss, but I do think that is a bit over the top.

Your having laugh aren't you? 10 years after the first popular smart phone and the site is still not responsive!

The main purpose of the site is for our eyes to view the ads. That was as much as admitted when the owner claimed this was their main form of income. Just look at the hilarious click-bait 'news' articles.

Let it go FTG. You will be told you don't have to use the site by some MOD.

Depends on what you call fine. Some smartphone users are long over 'pinch & zoom' mate. It's 20bloody17
