For all the shocks we had early on in the competition it's starting to look a bit predictable now isn't it....?

Hard to believe Zenit payed €40mm for Witsel. Not sure I've seen him do anything at this Cup.

Thing that's disappointing is that the qtrs are usually the last rd where there are good matches. These have all been garbage. Hopefully Los Ticos throw all caution to the wind, but they probably won't.

When you see Lukaku and De Bruyne play like this you start to realise that Mourinho might actually know what he's talking about.

Only Costa Rica can save this World Cup from petering out into a massive anti-climax I fear.....

The other day we were struggling to name a decent centre half but these quarter finals have been all about defense....

Messi should have shot with his right foot for a change.

FIFA clearly want 'their' top names in the final and have instructed the referees to go easy on yellows for the chosen ones.

Di Maria must be terribly injured - he just sprinted out on to the pitch like a greyhound in order to be a part of the manlove group hug.

Dull.

Not enjoying the knockouts after an amazing group stage.

Still hope whilst there's still Costa Rica though!

Couldn't agree more. Out of the last four, I say four coz Costa Rica won't win later tonight, I couldn't care less which one of them wins it now. I don't like any of them much.

As I said during the group games, Belgium are just not a good team, they are full of talent but are not a team, hazard should be ashamed of himself at the is tournament and also his last 6 months in the premier league, he has been strolling for the last 6 months

I think it's more of a case of many key players being bang out of form. Kompany has looked nervous and erratic, Hazard has been strolling (as you correctly point out), Lukaku has not been anywhere near the form he showed for Everton, Dembéle and Chadli have had a season in which they have been in and out of the Spurs team, etc.

Make no mistake about it, the heat in these early afternoon matches has been a factor.
