Reckon the bars in the area will resort to selling Class A's. Not to miss out on any business and all that

Didn't they do this during Italia 90 and all the locals spent weeks stocking up on booze and selling it on to fans - I can imagine the queues at Carrefour must be out of the door by now.

UEFA do not like their alcohol. Wembley was always "dry" for Euro games, and of course no beers for us at a Europa League game. Perhaps Platini had shares in the AA.

All games in Lens have an alcohol ban, it isn't England focused as the headlines suggest.
Re: England v Wales Alcohol Ban (Non-WHU)
It's because Lens is a a smallish town and they can't handle thousands of drunk people. Believe it or not the capacity of the stadium is bigger than the town's population

Booze served in bars/restaurants and fan zone but they are stopping boozing in other outside public places, coaches, cars etc apparently

IIRC, this happened during France '98 as well.
When England beat Columbia in Lens, nearby Lille (including our campsite) was packed to the rafters with English fans, the majority ticket-less.
Happy days.
