England (Non Whu) Vs Russia Match Thread
f*** off Europe we' may be voting out ,but for now we're staying in , let's get the real party started in the battle in Marseille .
Roys boys are surely too strong for a functional Russian team , although Roy may choose to give the Russkies a chance by selecting John Stones .
Rooney to score a brace tonight methinks .
England3-0

We generally score early and concede soon after in opening tournament games. I think tonight will be different. 0-0 at half time. Kane and Rooney in the second half. 2-0.

I would just like to wish you chaps good luck in the tournament.
I have seen many English sides play in many tournaments and they had really talented players but flattered to deceive.
Strangely this current squad imo seems less talented than those of years ago, I don't know why but I have a funny feeling they are going to do well.
Rooney (again imo) has never turned up on the big stage and this is his last throw of the dice to make a mark.
My lot are in the group of death and we as well have a team of very little to get excited about at the moment.
Anyway I hope it goes well for ye and that they do you proud, I also hope the minority of drunken yobs cop themselves on and stop tarnishing the names of all the decent supporters that you have.

Aussies dispatched in the rugby, Sri Lankians heading for 3 - 0 whitewash in the cricket, Putin and his pussies for the hat-trick.
Time to forget about the peerless Payet and get behind Roy and the boys.

I hope we show similar passion to the Welsh, been so long since I've seen an English team appear to care. (1996)

I am pretty indifferent to the England team and having just seen 5 Tottenham players in the team has tipped me into active dislike.

Happy with the line up apart from Rooney. At least he has stopped trying to play too many forwards and got the balance right.
Think it will be an attacking game, 3 - 1 is my optimistic call.
We have plenty of pace and their defense is meant to be a bit slow.

100% and I don't care who plays for what club. Time to put club rivalry behind us and get behind this team. I for one hope Rooney finally fulfils that promise he showed in his first international tournament, but unfortunately he got injured. I for one would love to see him lift the trophy, unlikely as that may be.only1post wrote:Aussies dispatched in the rugby, Sri Lankians heading for 3 - 0 whitewash in the cricket, Putin and his pussies for the hat-trick.

Feeling strangely optimistic (might be the beer) Rooney shouldn't be there but (West Ham arguments aside) it is a solid team. The Alii/Kane link is make or break for us, just hope shrek doesn't break it.

Lallana and Sterling have been poor all season...they owe Roy big time.
