We've been linked with Gokhan Gonul - Turkish right back and Ozyakup - sort of right attacking mid

Gonul is on a free transfer, Ozyakup at Besiktas and used to play under Slav (would love him at our place)

We were also linked with Erkin at left back but he signed for Inter

Croatia are a really good team, have a handful of world-class players and aren't burdened by excessive expectation. I had a little flutter on them reaching the final.

They look much the better team so far. I do think this Turkey side ought to be a lot better than it is but they have the same difficulty that a number of the less-successful European nations have in trying to force play through their star player, Arda Turan. The good thing about the Croats having Modric and Rakitic playing behind Mandzukic is that you can play a logical system without expecting any one of them to have to create more than they are reasonably capable of (or capable of at club level).

I fancy Croatia to knock in another couple in the second half, without reply.
