That's as good a team performance as we'll see in the whole tournament .

Forza Italia.

Game of the tournament thus far. Conti showing everyone how to set a team up and make good subs, hopefully Hodgson was watching.

Belgium were woeful, a team full of great players but not a great team. Hazard as captain?

Best game so far. I thought the Italians were excellent - well organised in defence, soaking up the Belgies pressure and then 2 good goals. Dark horses?

Again we see that team spirit and a bit of discipline can help you win football - and matches against supposedly better teams full of superstars.

I've always had a soft spot for Italy.

Like watching Manchester City versus Leicester City. Talented individuals vs a Team.

I have nothing against Belgium, but when the heart of your team plays for Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United, it's hard not to snicker. And Lukaku, what a terrible performance.

Italy, take a bow. How to make defending entertaining. Big Sam must be ****ing himself silly.

Italy were value for money, but Lukaku and Origi both missed sitters.

:scarfer:

giaccherini man of the match, scored a great goal, ran his b*llocks off all game, everywhere.
italy a bit too deep at the end but well defended and thankfully origi can only run.

conte getting smashed by zaza during the first goal's celebrations. zaza staying on the bench Image

for all their talent the belgians really look toilet.
lukaku would have buried that chance against us.

20 minutes to go. What does Conte do that Roy didn't?

Bring on the quickest attacking player he has on the bench in Immobile, who was a menace the rest of the game.

Italy, defend stoutly, attack swiftly and in numbers and at no point to rest on a 1-0. Brave. Justly rewarded because of it.

Brilliant win from Italy, can't say any more.

Pity for us us, but it's just what I expected.

I love Wilmots for the player he was but he's clueless.
Nevertheless: this is not all Wilmots' fault. The country & press will use him as the scapegoat, but it's time those prima donna's get some criticism and have a good look in the mirror.

Although I just hear an interview from Vertonghen where he said Belgium played pretty well, but Italy took their chances. Says it all.
The only players to have good games were Naingolan, Ciman & Courtois. The irony is.....2 of them were subbed! :eh:

De Bruyne was a disaster. He should have been subbed, as good as he may be. Lukaku was his usual self against a team that does not leave much space at the back, and we should have known that. But all these individuals are so prone to criticism etc that they would throw their toys out of the pram if they get subbed or if they don't start a game.
THAT'S WHY we will never win anything with this team.

Did you see all those Italy players celebrating the second goal? The whole squad was on the pitch. Their sub striker Zaza (who was in with a shout for starting) was hugging Pele. That's what we call a team and why they will be ,again, contenders for the trophy.

Sunderland reject lol. Wonder if they'll recall him now or sell for the paltry fee they had lined-up. Bet Suede Head choked on his meat pie when he cooly finished that killer pass from Bonucci.

Well played Italy.

That was sheer beauty from Italy last night. The best team of the tournament so far and one of my favourite neutral performances I've seen in some time.

The Juve quartet really are something else.

Agreed Dyl. Even more so if you swap the word "Belgium" with "England".
