Re: Belgium vs Randolph
Not a bad shout. Belgium looked like ten individuals rather than a team last time.
But I will go for 1-0 Belgium.

Re: Belgium vs Randolph
Ireland weren't ballsy enough, when they were a goal down they were putting crosses in the box and only one or two of them were in or around the area. There was a point where Hoolahan had the ball on the edge of the box and the wide man had two Belgians around him. Behind Hoolahan, to his right, there was a massive space that Glen Whelan could, and should, have ran into, unmarked, Belgians doubling up on others, but he just stood there like a defensive moron, 'oh no, we can't concede again', from that failure to attack Belgium then won the ball, broke away and scored. How many crosses went to the centre of the box and nobody was there? Even their goal against Sweden came originally from a cross to the centre that nobody attacked, it's just not good enough, and now they're out.
There is nothing wrong with being a bit defensive minded when you're not losing and you know that you're inferior to the opposition, but not going for it when you're losing, like Turkey yesterday, is shortchanging your fans that have gone all that way, and paid all that money, to support you, it's disgraceful and Ireland have got what they deserved.

Re: Belgium vs Randolph
A well deserved win for Belgium, as they showed some commitment at last.
Today has made it even more clear to me: Belgium need to play a counter attacking game. I said it for 50 mins against my wife: IF we score, it will be on a set piece for Ireland as they got some players forward. And so it worked out. Same story for the 3rd goal.
Unfortunately the players and Wilmots won't see it like that because they think they are too good to play on the counter.
They have all the attributes to do it, and they would take out their weakness as we get caught out far too much ourselves on counter attacks and as we fail to break down teams who park the bus.

Re: Belgium vs Randolph
Randolph should have done better with the 2nd and his angling was terrible for the 3rd.
Given his angling was also shocking for Martial's goal in our last game at Upton Park, I certainly don't buy into this "equal to if not better than Adrian" knee jerk.
