Up until the first goal it was even. The fact Wales conceded so quickly again was the killer.

But really, missing Ramsey completely did Wales in.

Not quite good enough today, but overall Wales can go home with heads held high. They've been very good as a unit...probably, along with Iceland, the best 'team' in the competition.

Well done and congratulations on a fantastic tournament

The pundits were always going to mention Ramsey as if Portugal weren't without Pepe and William Carvalho.

Mate, if Ginge is trying to spring an offside trap he's going the wrong way. :eh:

The difference being DC that when Wales go to make a change they bring on someone that plays for MK Dons. Ramsey was a bigger miss for them than Pepe or Carvalho for Portugal.

Looking at a still of that Ronaldo header, Ginge could easily have punched him in the b*llocks but failed to do so

For me ginge's initial movement was forward. He stopped when Williams didn't move and then went back. None of the pundits mention Collins being a fault and consider Williams to have made an error of judgement. I honestly cannot see how Ginge could have effected that passage of play mate.

Williams was at fault. If he had not stepped back their player would have been offside. Collins had read this.

Oh well, the party's over. Wales unfortunately paid the penalty for Ramsey's ban. Portugal sat on Bale so Wales were always struggling going forward. Whoever was supposed to mark Ronaldo at corners didn't and it was more or less game over at that point - Wales never looked like scoring and even though Nani's goal had more than a little good fortune about it. Ultimately, guts and team spirit only take you so far and Wales are really three or four players short in their first eleven and the subs are mostly of Championship/League One standard

I thought Ramsey's loss would be hard to make up for but I didn't think it would turn out to be impossible. Wales were comfortable in the first half but in truth never laid a glove on a team comfortable for the duration.

As someone said Bale just tried too hard. It never felt like it would come off for him. I've not liked a Portugal side since that little turd came on the scene but even so you have to begrudgingly admire the way they know how to deal with most teams in big tournaments.

Well done Wales. Heads held high all tournament.

Not quite the same thing when you have to bring on players that struggled to get in a relegated MK Dons side to chase a game.

Shame as he's been brilliant up until then.

Williams tries to play offside after the ball had been played and leaves Nani umarked. A bit daft and no fault of Collins.

Agree with that, what I didn't agree with is the other fella saying Collins tried to play an offside trap. He went back towards goal.

Wales done an England. Failed to turn up on the night, the football was poor, panicked as soon as they went behind.

Very plucky though.
