World Cup draw
Seems strange with Italy missing, but any views on an ideal group for Gareth and the boys.
Or for Hernandez and our Senegal duo.
Not sure there is much scope next year for a group of death either.
Pot 1 Pot 2 Pot 3 Pot 4
Russia Spain Denmark Serbia
Germany Peru Iceland Nigeria
Brazil Swiss Costa Rica Australia
Portugal England Sweden Japan
Argentina Colombia Tunisia Morocco
Belgium Mexico Egypt Panama
Poland Uruguay Senegal South Korea
France Croatia Iran Saudi Arabia

Re: World Cup draw
I haven't been paying enough attention: how have Belgium and especially, Poland become better ranked than Spain and England?
England were undefeated, (drawing two) and conceded a mere three goals in ten games.
Poland drew one, lost one and conceded fourteen in the same number of games.

You want someone to explain FIFA Ranking? Better ask someone to explain Higgs boson!Crossd_Hammrs wrote:I haven't been paying enough attention: how have Belgium and especially, Poland become better ranked than Spain and England?

Re: World Cup draw
Poland have stitched FIFA up and played the rankings system to perfection. Before the seeds were set in place for the World Cup they didn't play a friendly for over a year. Means all of their points were calculated from their qualifying games (which they were obviously winning at a canter) and they didn't pick up any defeats in tough friendlies (England, Spain, Italy all handicapped themselves by doing that).Crossd_Hammrs wrote:I haven't been paying enough attention: how have Belgium and especially, Poland become better ranked than Spain and England?

Fair play to them I say
