Re: Who’s going to win the World Cup?
If and I know it's a big if, England were to surprise us all and win the thing, with Kane captain and goalscorer, Alli and Trippier playing, that would mean Tottenham winning the World Cup and being on level terms with us.
Not having that. Belgium for me.

^ Would only count if we scored 4 in the final with one of them getting a hat trick.
Plus as we all know Kane is a gooner.

England's World Cup odds shorten
South Korea 2-0 Germany
England are now just the fourth favourites to win the World Cup.
The Three Lions have been cut from 10-1 into just 17-2, and are now fancied more than France and Argentina.
That’s the first time this World Cup that England have been bigger favourites than France, who have drifted to 10-1 for the tournament.
Since Germany’s exit, Gareth Southgate’s men have been the most popular bet in the outright winner market, attracting 56% of all bets on the eventual victor.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “England fans will always rejoice an early exit for the Germans in a major tournament, and the fact that Southgate's men are looking like hopefuls themselves is a huge bonus.
“England's route to the final will now be clear of a penalty shootout loss to the old enemy.”

Tomorrow's game is likely to have unnecessary bookings, a low goals scored count, possible own goals and missed penalties with some of the most blatantly unnecessary defenders' fouls and handballs imaginable.

It's going to be fascinating watching two teams trying to lose.

Re: Who’s going to win the World Cup?
Other than ourselves and Belgium, I'd say the form teams going in to the round of 16 are Uruguay, Croatia and Brazil.
I think even Ronaldo is going to struggle to weave enough magic to get past Uruguay and Spain vs. Russia isn't a foregone conclusion.
I reckon we'll beat Brazil in the quarters, Uruguay in the semis and thrash Croatia in the finals ....... Either that or we'll lose to Senegal and go home feeling a bit embarrassed.

Uruguay is the one remaining team who would make a decent fist of defending our set plays, but I think they are about the only oneClucking Bell wrote:Other than ourselves and Belgium, I'd say the form teams going in to the round of 16 are Uruguay, Croatia and Brazil.

Re: Who’s going to win the World Cup?
Did we buy the German's hotel booking off of them for the day before the final?
Hope we knocked 'em down on the price, as well.

There will be at least one surprise result over these rounds and one or two will also go to penalties, but if I had to pick just one, Russia's might be it, Denmark would be the other

Us. It's fate.
We're playing with the flair of the Greeks in Euro 2004 and the imagination of the Danes in 1992. And they both won.
I'm regretting laying us now having backed us at much better odds early on

I still think Russia are going to win it with a dangerous combination of PEDs and murder.

Re: Who’s going to win the World Cup?
I don't get all this talk of this is now the European championships. Aren't we flying the flag for the rest of the world ? It's just like the Brexit talks, are we in Europe or aren't we, or are we in it, but only when we chose to be ?
