#14 England 2-1 Tunisia ~ Group G
Or West Ham v Crystal Palace
England's, just like us, fortunes are always hiding, whereas Tunisia, just like Palace, are a bit chaotic, but can spring a huge surprise

We have a habit of drawing our opening game at tournaments 1-1 but I’m quietly confident we’ll have enough to see off Tunisia. Whilst personnel wise our defence looks a little low rent we don’t actually concede that many goals, particularly against average international opponents. If we can get a lead and force Tunisia to come at us we may well see the gaps to get another.
I’m gonna go for 2-0
I’m gonna go for 2-0

Tunisia will be really up for this, Ramadan will be over and after a good performance against Spain their moral and fitness should be good. They are a high energy team who will press hard and break quickly. If we can take our chances we can beat them as they don't seem too good at taking theirs. We usually start these competitions slowly and I I reckon if we come out slow and give them time to play we could have serious problems.

Think 1-0 would be a good result. first games are always hard, you have to set the bar, make a statement but you have to win, regardless who the team are.
Tunisia are a tough physical team and will want to bully our young squad so we have to be defensively solid using quick counter attacks. Sets us up for panama game quite nicely.

We should win.
I have no idea if we will win.
If we do, it will be the first opening game we've won for 12 years!

1-0, Harry Kane from the penalty spot.
Drab game, but getting the job done in what is the most important game in the group we have. Win this and beat Panama and the Belgium game becomes a dead rubber.

Where is everybody watching this?
I am tempted to go to the pub just to remind myself why I never watch England matches in the pub.
Paul Pry is staggering distance, I don't have work the next day so it's looking favourite.

If we don't beat Tunisia then we really haven't improved at all from the Iceland game.
I think we will win by a single goal in an uninspiring game.

We haven't.
It'll be 1-1.
We'll score first and concede fairly late. Mood will be bleak, we won't recover, and they'll touch down in T5 either late friday 29th or very early saturday 30th.

I think we need to be really careful in this game to not underestimate Tunisia.
They will believe that they will beat Panama. They will know, beating us will probably see them go through to the next stage. What an incentive for them.
Obvs, we really shouldn't underestimate anyone.

We could really do with an early goal, if we get it and the game opens up I can see ya winning 3-0. If we haven’t scored by half time things will get difficult

I agree. Tunisia are a fit and energetic team who defend well and close down the midfield but they have a big problem scoring goals. If they score first I think it would actually open the game up more for both teams as we'd have to attack more but if we score first and can put away our chances when space inevitably opens up we could get 3 or more. I personally think this will be a 1-1 with them scoring first.stu1 wrote:We could really do with an early goal, if we get it and the game opens up I can see ya winning 3-0. We are going to win 4-0, I dreamt it last night.
Ignoring the fact Hugil got all four goals.
We are going to win, all of the favourites have made stuttering starts, now is our time!!
ENGERLANNND!!!!

Dangerous talk from Harry Kane in this morning's red tops, about how he is going to score a hatrick tonight. He's better deliver after talk like that
