Why I won’t watch a World Cup match

Post by GreenIron »

Where do I start? How about these?

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/07/opin ... ussia.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/campa ... -of-shame/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

https://www.hrw.org/news/2018/05/15/rus ... -world-cup" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44451415" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A quick web search will throw up plenty more reasons.

I won’t be watching any match at this tournament or the next. Not in a stadium, not on TV, not on a dodgy stream. It’s all I can do or most of us can do. This **** only continues when there’s money in it. Nobody watching it = no money.

Noble stance, but I fear you're pissing into the wind.

Won't be long before the USA host or co-host another World Cup despite their poor Human Rights record . And on and on it goes .

Enjoy the Footie .
