Players who have impressed you so far .....

Post by Clucking Bell »

Obviously we all expect Ronaldo and Messi to play well but, I thought I'd start a thread for the less heralded players who have put in impressive performances so far.

My two have been Australia's Aaron Mooy (who I also thought was Huddersfield's best player against us and was quite pleased when he was subbed off) and the Icelandic goalkeeper, Halldorsson. He did a great job organizing his defence and made every save he had to.

Isco and Carvalho last night
Thought Mooy, Rogic and Jedinak were decent earlier for the Aussies

Aside from a few of those mentioned, I’d add the refereeing in general so far

Do you think with the added presence of VAR, refs have upped their game.

Or are English refs just that bad.
