Another tight group, apart from the poor Poles, of course.
In this match, winner takes all although if Senegal lost they could still go through (depending on the scores) so long as Poland beat Japan, unlikely though that would seem, on Poland's last two games.
So, in order of likelihood:
Japan only need a point.
Senegal only need a point.
Columbia only need a point if Poland beat Japan but a win would guarantee a place.

Colombia have plenty of quality, they scare me a bit, Senegal were lively against Japan but also pretty open at the back can't see James, Falcao, Cuadrado not taking advantage of that.

Could be a cracker this, Colombia have that "something" about them going forward.

Lively if slightly low quality start to this one, Kouyate starts.

(pre-VAR) pen to Senegal, foul on Mane
Over turned by VAR (correctly). Excellent tackle from the Columbian.

Kouyate playing a very disciplined, deep role. Making no attempt to get forward at all.

So every single goal scored is now going to be checked.
Football is being killed.

I don't see anything wrong with it. It adds a bit of drama, and makes sure that the decision is correct. It won't be every goal, because some are unquestionable, but for the minute it takes to be sure of something I don't see why people have such a problem with it. I'd rather know the goal was legit than have a bunch of goals ruled out for a bad decision.brothernero wrote:So every single goal scored is now going to be checked.

Senegal set to go home based on their disciplinary record at the moment. And our old friend Diafra Sakho has just come on.

Football is all about "the moment" the spontaneity. That is being taken away.
A goal is scored, fans celebrate wildly. Now they have to sit and wait.
It's not what football is about. It may add drama but it does not add any fun.
This is now just becoming like any other American sport. Stoppage after stoppage. Might as well start adding in game coaching.

Danny Murphy is going to be receiving even more complaints to the BBC. He has not learned at all.
That said, I don't think he is in the wrong. So good on him.

Kouyate gets a longer break and see Sakhos face at the end. Priceless.Samba wrote:Bloody hell, how gutting for Senegal..
