That's about the 10th time Alexi Lalas has invoked the word "honor" in describing Japan, from pre match to half time to post match. Is he the only American ex footballer capable of doing his job? There's got to be someone better.

Belgium's first goal had a touch of the Paul Konchesky's about it, no way did he mean that to go in.

Sad for Japan, but happy that Fellaini now gets a chance to give Neymar two broken legs.

bloody brilliant that was...

my house mate (for now) - English lass - asked why one of the players didn't get a yellow flag....yellow flags are in American Football I says......(she's been here waay to long)..meant yellow card....

I am packing in the bedroom watching on the telly and I hear her from the front room.....OH NO !!!!!!!

that was the third Belgian goal..

comes in to me and says "If the final is like that, it will be worth watching...."

bloody women,,,,,English or not.......

You've got to say that Bobby Brown Shoes made the right subs. Both Chadli and Fellaini were brilliant when they came on. De Bruyne did f*** all for the first 93 minutes and the strategy of give it to Eden and hope for the best was going nowhere.

Japan though have every right to feel proud of themselves: they stuck at it and have some very tidy players and if it wasn't for Vertonghen's jammy as f*** goal, the result might have been different.

Japan cost themselves with that third goal, utterly stupid and should be ashamed to throw away 90 minutes hard work by throwing far too many forward for a corner they didn't need to commit and getting caught on the counter, idiotic play from the manager and players. Belgium as expected dominated the aerial battle with two headers, the Japanese are fantastic technically gifted football players just lack a bit of height and physicality. Was a really entertaining game to watch, no VAR, no real diving or anything just a proper game of football that should've of gone extra time.

I think Japan knew their race was run and that's why they threw everything at the last few minutes.

I think Japan wouldn't have had another 30 minutes in them so they went all out to get the winner. Although they only played 80 minutes against Poland before having a kick about. Karma maybe!
