#57 Uruguay 0-2 France - Quarter Finals
France will start as favourites, but will Uruguay plot a way past them ? Don't rule it out

Re: Quarter Finals - France v Uruguay~Match thread
I think Uruguay might edge this. France are great going forward but, you'd always fancy them to concede at least one whereas Uruguay have only conceded once in four games and have two forwards who both have very good goals to chances ratios.

Take back my previous post if Cavani is out. There isn't good news coming out of the Uruguay camp and I think they might struggle without their dual threat up front, it'll still be tight though.

Giroud will be the key here. Absolutely no way Uruguay are playing a high line and letting Mbappe run through. If France don’t get the service into the big man I can’t see them scoring imo.

Agree about Cavani missing. A big loss for Uru.
Can see this match being a really nasty, niggly affair.

Got the afternoon off work, gonna get myself in the garden with a **** load of ice cold beers and watch this
I reckon Cavani will be fit enough, Uruguay to win 3-1.

This could make England v Columbia look like afternoon tea. Uruguay won't go down easy.

Suarez gonna have to deliver bigtime if they're going to dent the French.

On the bench I believe.sicknote wrote:Cavani is out
Tabarez going with the youth again with Sanchez and Cebolla not starting.
Will need Torreira and Betancur to be composed and advance the ball calmly.

OptaJoe stat:
Edinson Cavani and Luis Suárez are not starting a competitive game for Uruguay together for the first time since March 2017, when they lost 1-4 to Brazil.
Separation!

Well the French have started with the same quality of defending they had against Argentina
