Tonight was France's starting line up for their first World Cup match...

----------------Barthez

Sagnol----Thuram---Gallas----Abidal

----------Makelele
--------------------------Vieira
Zidane----------------------Malouda

------Henry-----------Cisse

Obviously Cisse broke his leg so it looks like Trezeguet to come in.
Though Ribery came on with 15 mintes left and was amazing...changed the game.

Domenech may opt for a front line of Ribery----Henry----Malouda perhaps instead of bringing Trezeguet in and playing 2 up top.

Hopefully he will anounce something soon.

My opinion is not too dissimilar mate.
Quoted at being valued at £50m couple of years back...pathetic.

its all about spain this year, David villa and Torres and upfront. I think torres will get golden boot and spain will go far or maybe even win the whole thing. I think people may underestimate them this year. Just a sneaky feeling :D

:lol:

To be fair, he has a point.
David Villa is the absolute nuts of a player and we all know about Torres.

I'm still a little dubious as to wether they will play 2 up front or 5 in midfield with supporting wingers.

Driving skills and the World Cup :wink:

Due to the nature of the quality of driving in England, the Department of
Transport has now devised a new scheme in order to identify poor drivers and
give good drivers the opportunity to recognise them whilst driving.

For this reason as from the middle of May 2006 those drivers who are found
to be driving badly, which includes:

- overtaking in dangerous places;

- hovering within one inch of the car in front;

- stopping sharply;

- speeding in residential areas;

- pulling out without indication;

- performing U turns inappropriately in busy high streets;

- undertaking on motorways;

- taking up more than one lane in multi lane roads.

These drivers will be issued with flags, white with a red cross, signifying
their inability to drive properly.

These flags must be clipped to a door of the car and be visible to all other
drivers and pedestrians.

Those drivers who have shown particularly poor driving skills will have to
display a flag on each side of the car to indicate their greater lack of
skill and general lower intelligence mindset to the general public.

Please circulate this to as many other motorists as you can so that drivers
and pedestrians will be aware of the meaning of these flags

I'm assuming this is sarcasm but spain have never won it and I think they've only won the euro once.

obviously iv got my hopes pinned on england like every other person. But if im honest iv got a sneaky feeling that France will defy the 'old has beens' tag and win it this year. (nothing to do with getting them in the sweep at work mind :wink: )

i would prefer to see them play a midfield of

--------------makalele
--------zidane-------viera
ribery-----------------------malouda
---------------henry

as previously said trezeguet just dont do it, ribery has been amazing this season and henry needs to be a focal point to cater for his ego thats the only way i think he will perform at a major tournament!

I very rarely have much confidence in England other than blind hope. This time I am extremely confident that we are going to do it.

It's all going to come together in spectacular style, you mark my words.
